Dr. Matthew James Koster, MD

Dr. Matthew Koster is a rheumatologist and internal medicine specialist who earned his medical degree from Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at Mayo Clinic and Medical School, building a strong foundation in both specialties over his 17 years of clinical practice. Dr. Koster brings extensive experience in diagnosing and treating complex inflammatory and autoimmune conditions.

Dr. Koster practices at multiple Mayo Clinic locations throughout Rochester, Minnesota, including the Rheumatology department, Vascular Center, and both Saint Marys and Methodist hospital campuses. He specializes in treating giant cell arteritis, vasculitis, and granulomatosis with polyangiitis. His clinical expertise includes performing immunology and serology testing, comprehensive metabolic panels, and C-reactive protein assessments to help diagnose and monitor inflammatory conditions.
