Dr. Matthew Lahmeyer, OD

Dr. Matthew Lahmeyer is a longtime Houston resident. At a very young age, he knew that he wanted to become an Optometrist as he needed glasses at the age of eight. He attended undergraduate school at Oklahoma Christian University and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 2003. He then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry and received his Doctorate Degree in 2008. He is a Therapeutic Optometrist who allows the use of dilating drops to perform a complete examination of the eye. Additionally, he is a certified Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and can diagnose and treat glaucoma among other eye diseases.
His current practice focuses on primary care Optometry with an interest in specialty contact lens fittings for the treatment of eye diseases such as keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, and other diseases that affect the front curvature of the eye. He loves the challenge of fitting patients who have been told they cannot wear contacts and patients …who have discontinued wearing contact lenses. Your sight that was once lost can be restored by using specialty contact lenses. He has been with Houston Eye Associates since 2008.
His primary language is English, but he can also complete eye exams in Spanish.
In his free time, Dr. Lahmeyer enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and hiking.
