Dr. Matthew William Lorber, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Lorber's for 2 years, and he has been amazing. He takes his time with me, he is clearly so knowledgeable and more important I can tell how much he cares. I can proudly say that I came off of the medicine I was on a week ago, and I still feel great. It was so nice to be with a doctor who did not have the goal of keeping me on meds forever and I recommend him to anyone needing help.

We love Dr. Lorber. We all trust his judgement and approach and he has done so much for us. The best, simply the best.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Lorber. He has a real gift of interacting with teens (one for one, they trust and admire him), he is conservative, understands the risks of medications and follows up diligently, he cares about everyone who walks into his office. Don't know what we would do without him in our lives.

Dr. Lorber cares about his patients, is knowledgeable about diagnosis' and medications and has an empathetic approach to therapy. He genuinely cares about seeing his patients become healthy and happy. I highly recommend him.

What Dr. Lorber has done for my family cannot be put into words. My daughter was having panic attacks in high school, she was in therapy and the therapist kept saying she needed to see a psychiatrist. I live in Connecticut, we took our therapist's recommendation for a local psychiatrist, and although he was nice enough, frankly he was flat out strange and my daughter would not listen to a word he said. I knew a close friend of mine used to have similar issued with her own daughter so I asked her and she insisted there was only one doctor to see, and he was a young child psychiatrist in the city who supposedly treats all the celebrities. In all honesty my friend is one of those stuck up CT women, and frankly I was dreading calling Dr. Lorber because I was imagining one of those arrogant manhattan doctors who thinks the world of himself. Instantly I was shocked when I scheduled the first appointment with him (of course my friend has his cell and insisted that is the number to use). He… was very nice on the phone but did not have a weekend appointment for three weeks and I told him it could not wait. He agreed to come in and see her at 7am on a Sunday to avoid having her wait weeks (never had I imagined a doctor ever doing this). I dragged my husband and daughter and when we saw him I could not believe he was a day over 30yo. The other thing that stands out is that he is strikingly good looking. I say this because my teenage daughter was threatening the entire car ride down to NY to refuse to talk to him since she heard anxiety meds caused weight gain and hated the first guy we saw but the moment she looked at him I could tell she was going to cooperate. Fast forward four months, she adores him, her panic attacks have stopped, he even got her to agree to change her entire diet and she has now taken up running. Dr. Lorber is shockingly humble, he does not rush us at all and was an encyclopedia of medicine knowledge. The two major cons: traffic around his office is terrible, and finding parking is a nightmare so beware of both if you do not live in Manhattan. Despite that, I would recommend him to anyone, bringing my daughter to him was the best decision we could have made.

I have been working with Dr. Lorber for over 3 years and I now consider him part of my family. He is kind, intelligent, soo punctual, and not so bad on the eyes either. Only complaint is that he's not cheap but that seems to be the norm for NY..

Brought my son after a a neuropsychological exam showed he had ADD and the neuropsychologist highly recommended him and I could not be happier. Dr. Lorber was very conservative with medications and he is working out of a wellness center as opposed to the traditional doctors office which is important to me. He did not just talk about meds, he also helped me to rework my sons sleep schedule and diet. My son loves him and he did great last year in school!

I brought my 7yo son to see Dr. Lorber for ADHD at the beginning of the school year and I cannot tell you how thrilled I am. My son is thriving academically, Dr. Lorber is very conservative with medications, and seemed to know the detail of every medicine out there. He even sees us on Saturdays!!

Dr. Lorber was so helpful. He was thoughtful and thorough and took his time when considering my concerns. It is clear that he is dedicated to his patients and his profession. He was comprehensive and informative when determining the most advantageous treatment approaches and expectations.
