Dr. Matthew Thomas Lorincz, MD

I'll keep it brief as possible and just say I appreciate his intentions but after giving him my detailed history of my impacts from sport and symptoms he wrote it all off as just stress, I would visit intermittently over the course of a year and began to convince myself I was making my symptoms up or they were as he thought, dehydration, poor sleep or just stress. I returned to sport when I should not have based on these assertions by an expert. I didn't start to get better until a year later when I trusted my intuition over the letters next to his name and paid out of pocket for the correct testing and people that would actually listen to me and confirm what was really wrong and exactly what to do to fix it. I was given no guidance or education by Dr Lorincz despite him being very nice and answering my questions, but his approach set my recovery behind, but at least I learned to trust myself.

After suffering symptoms for two years Dr. Lorincz was 13th doctor that I saw for a neurological condition. He quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem and corrected it with medication. He was very thorough, listened to all my concerns and followed up to be sure I was healthy.

Relied on an brain MRI that radiology stated was "of poor quality". He did not prescribe a repeat for better quality. Chose not to empirically prescribe meds based on symptoms. Suggested cognitive therapy instead. Later, a high quality MRI by a different hospital, EEG and SPECT scan all identified an operable temporal lobe brain tumor.After seeing Lorincz, make sure you get a second and third opinion at a non-university hospital.
