Dr. Matthew Wheeler Mabie, MD

Dr. Mabie is an absolutely brilliant pulmonologist and anyone would have a tough time finding another physician even close to him across the entire country. Now, he absolutely does not play around with his patients. You better be honest, follow his treatment plan and know he is there to do his job and not be your friend. He is not going to give you warm and fuzzies, but he his going to save your life. He saved mine 15 years ago after multiple doctors across the country failed to develop a treatment plan that would simply manage my condition and allow me to compete athletically. I should add I was definitely not compliant with Dr. Mabie at first. Every other doctor babied me, and Dr. Mabie is way too brilliant to do so. He told me the cold honest truth. Dr. Mabie didn’t only manage my symptoms, he healed me completely and I no longer have medicines, inhalers and machines in every corner of the room. Even though years have passed since being seen regular by Dr. Mabie, he still… checks on me and is only a phone call away. This man deserves angel wings!

Dr. Mabie considered my past history of asthma and quickly associated the parainfluenza virus , exposure from school children, with my symptoms. He prescribed an effective antibiotic, steroids, and ongoing asthma treatment. I plan to continue seeing him for ongoing control/management of asthma.

I am grateful for Dr. Mabie who diagnosed my asthma. He is an excellent dr, cares about his patients, and very thorough.

You won't regret. Very knowledgeable, yet down to earth communication. Spends time answering questions with the patient AND the family! Critical care first choice!
