Botched I hired Dr. Matthew McLeod to replace my 20 year old implants. I wanted to go smaller if possible without the extra incisions or stay the same size and place them under the muscle. After multiple complications and surgeries...January 2023, December 2023, April 2024. I had them explanted in February 2025. I learned at the consult for the explantation that they had been placed above the muscle. This prompted me to get my records. I learned that he replaced my 375cc implants with 560cc implants and placed them above the muscle. WHY WOULD A DOCTOR DO THIS?!?! $25K, pain, and depression. Proceed with caution...read ALL reviews. I underwent an abdominoplasty with muscle repair and liposuction to the flanks. While the results improved my appearance, I was disappointed with my belly button—it was uneven, more oval than round, and had significant external scarring. Despite this, I trusted the doctor and returned for a second surgery to address these concerns and undergo a lower body lift and breast implant exchange for my 20-year-old saline implants. During the consultation, I emphasized that I did not want larger implants. The doctor claimed a slight increase was necessary to avoid a breast lift but reassured me it would be minimal. However, he went significantly larger than agreed, and I have since developed capsular contracture, requiring revision surgery. To make matters worse, the doctor did not perform the lower body lift or liposuction to my flanks, despite charging me for these procedures. I have since consulted with other doctors who confirmed that my front scars were placed too high and now require a… full revision, along with the completion of the lower body lift I originally paid for. Despite multiple attempts to contact him regarding these concerns—including the unresolved belly button revision, the failed procedures, and my dissatisfaction—he has refused to respond or refund my money. The lack of communication has been incredibly hurtful and frustrating. Patients deserve transparency, accountability, and to receive the surgeries they paid for. My experience with this doctor has been disappointing and disheartening. l

Dr McLeod is the doctor I trust most. There is never a time that he does not have my best interests at heart. He is knowledgeable, skillful and compassionate. Regardless of the procedure, I know his primary concern is the best outcome for me! Expect Dr McLeod to go above and beyond for you. Expect him to care. He does. For him, it’s not about the procedure but about the whole person.

Subject: Extremely Dissatisfied with Plastic Surgery Experience I underwent a plastic surgery procedure at Dr. Matthew McLeod’s clinic about ten months ago. I cannot express how utterly disappointed I am with the entire experience. From start to finish, the entire process was a complete nightmare. I have waited this long to write a review because I wanted my anger to dissipate and make sure I was calm and less emotional. I am writing this review to warn others about Dr. McLeod’s incompetence and save them from the turmoil I was put through. Looking back on the initial consultation, Dr. McLeod did not listen to my concerns and what I wanted. This lack of attention to detail was the beginning of one mistake after another and ended up with me having to have two additional surgeries to correct the disfigurement caused by asymmetry, as well as several other issues. The day of the surgery was nothing short of chaotic. The staff appeared disorganized, distracted, and amateurish.… Communication was abysmal, with minimal information provided to me or my husband about what to expect during and after the surgery. After the surgery, I was sent home, unaware I had a hematoma that was left untreated for 11 days! As for the results of the surgery, they were beyond disappointing. The work done was sloppy and far from the standard one would expect from a professional plastic surgeon. The supposed expertise of Matthew McLeod is highly questionable, as the outcome is a clear reflection of subpar skills and a lack of attention to detail. Furthermore, aftercare was virtually non-existent. Any attempts to address my concerns were met with a lot of changing answers and excuses from Dr. McLeod about what had happened and how to fix it. With every visit to him, I lost more and more confidence in McLeod and his staff. I ended up seeking the services of another plastic surgeon. This was a very expensive experience, having to pay for the same procedure twice, and I had months of recovery. In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering plastic surgery to steer clear of Matthew McLeod and his clinic. The overall experience was a nightmare, from the hasty consultations to the sloppy work and lack of postoperative care. Save yourself the anguish and disappointment, go somewhere else – there are many more qualified and caring professionals out there who prioritize the well-being and satisfaction of their patients.

I had my initial consultation a few weeks ago and I left that visit confident that God chose Dr. McLeod to take care of me. I walked in with a ton of fear due to the past 8 years, many surgeries and many bad experiences with physicians and hospitals in my area. I walked out of this visit with confidence and hope that Dr. McLeod could and would take good care of me. I knew immediately that this surgeon has compassion, empathy, and loves what he does. Those 1st two compassion and empathy were among many other things missing from my prior experiences which caused fear and harm in this patient. I highly recommend Dr. McLeod and I am looking forward to my procedure, I not only feel confidence in Dr.Mcleod but I feel it in my heart and my gut. If I could give him and the staff at Savannah plastic surgery a 10 star rating I certainly would.
