Dr. Matthew P Mcmasters

Dr. McMasters is a lifelong resident of Giles County. He grew up in the small city of Minor Hill, and went on to graduate from Giles County High School in 1989. He then attended nearby Martin Methodist College, graduating in 1991 with an Associate in Arts degree. He continued his undergraduate studies at Middle Tennessee State University, in Murfreesboro, TN, and in 1994, he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in chemistry and biology.
Immediately after graduation, Dr. McMasters began working as a research chemist for Zeneca Specialties, Inc., where he completed research projects for their pharmaceutical division. He worked on treatments for diseases such as AIDS, cancer, and osteoporosis. In the fall of 1996, he had a desire to return to school and continue his education. He was accepted into dental school and began enrollment in the fall of 1997. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Tennessee, Memphis, College of Dentistry. He immediately returned to Pulaski and …opened his private practice.
For quite a few years, Dr. McMasters also maintained dental practices outside of Pulaski. In 2002, he opened a satellite office in Tracy City. He closed that office in 2005 and also began practicing in Columbia, until the summer of 2008, when he decided to return 'home' to practice on a full time basis. In the fall of 2009, in addition to practicing dentistry in Pulaski, he also began practicing in Ardmore. Dr. McMasters is a small town dentist at heart, and embraces the close knit community that rural giles county offers.
Dr. McMasters career is not only marked by a sincere concern and commitment for improving the health and welfare of his patients, but he continues to immerse himself in continuing education as well. While the state requirement is 20 hrs of continuing education per year, Dr. McMasters takes three or four times that amount each year. He has a special interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, and is constantly searching to learn the newest techniques and procedures that will benefit his patients.
Dr. McMasters is married to Holly, and they have two daughters, Kinsley and Kaitlyn. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his family and participating in sports of all kinds.
