I have had Dr. McQueen for many years as my PCP and always have been more than satisfied with his care, competency and treatment.

Visits with Dr. McQueen are quick and thorough. He is friendly and nice to deal with.

I've seen Dr. McQueen several times and without a doubt, VERY IMPRESSED with each of my visits. He takes time out of his busy life and calls me after hours to go over lab results I recently had. If I miss his call, he will call again until he gets in touch with me. I had a medical problem that no other Dr. could find, but first time seeing Dr. Mqueen he found the problem and is working on a solution. I would recommend anyone to him and have NEVER had a Dr. with such great manners and felt like he really does care!!!!! Love, Love, Love this Dr.!!!!

I changed primary care doctor and medical network and selected Dr, Mathew McQueen and Ochsner. I have been very impressed and extremely pleased with the services provided by Dr. McQueen. He is proactive in his treatment program, he is very generous with his time and when you email him, he always responds in 24 hrs. I highly recommend him. The Ochsner system, although large and complex, is a well oiled machine. I have been very pleased with their services.

I first began seeing Dr. McQueen when he first came to Ochsner. He was great. As time went on, he declined into a totally different physician. I do not know what happened to him but he changed...... drastically. I was so disappointed that he was not the physician I met in the late 90's. I finally had to go find another doctor and have never been sorry I left.

did not listen to what i had to say.told could not breathe, so he sends me toget stress test. it was not my heart. had to go to the hospital there i was told i had asthma. how can this dr teach?

I have been going to see Dr. McQueen for about three months now for a leg injury. I've seen him twice so far, and have also been back for an MRI (though I did not see him directly that time). Overall, I've been frustrated with this whole ordeal. Some interactions with Dr. McQueen and the Ochsner staff have been good, but others not so much. My dad was a practicing physician, so I understand that medical centers are hectic places and that the doctors, nurses, and staff members are often overworked and exhausted from dealing with the same issues over and over. However, I've felt that my treatment at Ochsner's Sports Medicine Center has been unreasonably disappointing. For one, the receptionist who has taken my call every time tends to address me with a very annoyed tone of voice when I try to schedule an appointment or check in on my test results. (I was told I'd be contacted the next day about my results, so when I didn't hear from anyone for three days, I called in). I honestly try to… be as friendly as I can when I call, but I'm almost always spoken to with an attitude that makes me feel bad for even calling in the first place. I don't take it personally, but it definitely makes me hesitate to call.On my first appointment with Dr. McQueen, I found his bedside manner to be friendly, if not a bit distracted. Our conversation was lead so off-topic that I had to stop him so I could continue to explain the nature of my injury. I'm all for a friendly, conversational doctor, but in this case it felt as though it was preventing us from actually discussing the issue that brought me there in the first place. I was told to make a follow-up visit for a bone scan if my pain persisted for a month. When I made this appointment, I told the receptionist that I was supposed to have a bone scan, and she said OK, but I was never given any follow-up information about it. Sure enough, I didn't get a bone scan during that appointment. Perhaps I should have gone about scheduling it in a different way? Either way, during my appointment, it didn't seem like Dr. McQueen had even glanced over my chart before coming into the room, so I had to re-explain everything, including the fact that I had been there before to see him. Throughout this whole thing, I've felt like I have had to defend my pain, to prove that my leg actually hurts and that I need a better solution than stretching alone. I've been experiencing this pain for over 6 months now without any treatment, and it really is starting to feel like a chore to keep going to Ochsner. On high notes, all of my interactions with the nurses and radiologists have been great, and the MRI technician was particularly friendly and helpful (despite the fact that my MRI was originally ordered for the wrong area of my leg).I suppose now I'll just have to wait for Dr. McQueen to return my call so I can hopefully begin the journey to recovery. I trust other positive reviews that I've read for Dr. McQueen, and I acknowledge that I may be catching people on off days or that I'm just perceiving things differently. But still, I think I'll look elsewhere next time I'm in need of a sports medicine doctor.

I have found Dr. McQueen to be extremely at finding answers to my medical problems, of which there have been a great variety.I have also found him to be very caring about me as a patient.
