Dr. Matthew John Mlot, MD

I see a lot of comments about dr. Mlot s' personality. I thought the same thing at first. But my experiences and opinions have changed greatly. The first time we met he had some unforseen circumstances that had put his schedule way behind. I thought wow no chit chat just in out done! But I realized he does care about us and our time. Not a lot of doctors are so considerate of our time but that's why he was trying to catch up. So everyone didn't have to wait so long. My next procedure Dr Mlot was so different. Everything was running smoothly and on time. He came in chatted and made me feel very much at ease. He is a good doctor and knows what he's doing. That's what really matters. I would recommend Dr Mlot and his staff are excellent.

I was referred by a PA-C after going to the ER with severe RUQ pain. I had to wait a week for an appointment. When the time finally came, the only advice I was given is that we should do an endoscopy. Went up front to schedule the procedure...1st appointment isn't until May 14th! 79 days they expect me to wait!? Unacceptable.

Wilmington Health and Dr. Mlot were rude, refused to answer questions, discriminated and I received poor treatment.

I was a little reluctant to see Dr Mlot after reading some bad reviews about not listening and poor bedside manners. I found the exact opposite-he was warm, asked the pertinent questions and explained thoroughly what I had and how he recommended we proceed. And he stated any further tests were at my option

Arrogant, rude and incompetent. Went to him with a chronic problem that had occurred twice before and the medicine that alleviated all the symptoms. He insisted on unnecessary test and prescribed an expensive 3 month steroid medication that did nothing but prolong my misery. He ended up prescribing what I had requested in my initial visit. I suffered 4 months longer due to his being unwilling to consider patient imput. If you really need help in a timely manner, go elsewhere.

Who actually enjoys the thought of having Colonoscopy? Most of us dread turning that glorious age of 50 years old and being told by your doctor you're due for your colonoscopy. I'll be the first to admit I was one of those people that continued to put it off year after year, telling myself I was too busy or couldn't afford it. Then the time came that I could no longer put it off, I was starting to have other issues. My doctor agreed and was probably relieved and sent a referral to Wilmington Health's GI department. Within a few days, I received a call from them to schedule an appointment within the same week! The day of my appointment I was amazed at how seamless it was from checking in for my appointment, getting off the elevator and having Dr. Mlot's Nurse LaTasha greet me and waiting to take me to the exam room! LaTasha was so friendly and kind as we talked on the way to the room. Its hard to find people who truly seem to care about their job these days! LaTasha told me Dr. Mlot… would be in just a moment and boy was she right! Just a few short minutes after she exited the room Dr. Mlot was entering the room with an excited welcome. As I suspected, after we discussed my symptoms he thought it best to schedule my procedure and of course sooner rather than later. Dr. Mlot assured me that his team would take great care of him and LaTasha would be back shortly to go over the details to prep me for my procedure. LaTasha went over every part of the prep in great detail with me, I think she could tell I was a bit nervous. Once we covered the fine details, unlike some others she didn't just tell me to go up front to fend for myself, she walked with me up to the front to schedule my procedure. Maybe it was that friendly gesture that made me feel at ease or maybe they were afraid I was going to run away, but I could feel the anxiety leaving me. The scheduler and I picked a day & time that worked for me and my wife for the procedure. She was very patient with me as my wife and I tried to narrow down days that were convenient for us and not just what was convenient for them. The day came I needed to start drinking that prep! There's really no way around it, it's not most pleasant, but I knew I had to do it anyways. Honestly, that was the worst part if anything, but I was happy to just get it over. On my procedure day, everything was very swift! I checked in for my procedure and after a few minutes of waiting a nurse called me back to the procedure area. I can't say that I remember a whole lot, whatever they use must be pretty good! I remember a few moments before and then the next thing I remember I was waking up and greeted by more friendly nurses. The best part, of course, NO PAIN! Considering the type of procedure there might be some extra...well, air -to put it politely- that you have to pass, but I excelled with that! Overall I was very happy! Especially when I returned to find out I don't have to do this again for several years! I can't speak for everyone on here, but I think some of the other reviews might be a little dramatic or possibly from those who were upset that they didn't get their way. No doubt the idea of a Colonoscopy is scary, but if you listen, and follow the idiot-proof instructions everything will be fine!

Rude doctor not interested in you and your health. He raised his voice and wanted to argue with me when I questioned him. Does not examine you which could help determine what test is needed. He apparently doesn't care about his patients and acts like why are you here. I may die before getting to the bottom of my health issue.

I was very pleased with my medical procedure at Wilmington Health as Dr Mlot performed my colonoscopy. I immediately felt at ease with the nursing staff as they prepared me for the procedure and when I met Dr Mlot he greeted me with confidence mixed with a little humor which further relaxed me. Following the colonoscopy, Dr Mlot met with me to discuss his findings. He was thorough and welcomed any questions and/or concerns. I left this facility having had a positive experience.

When I first went to this Dr., he treated me like I was just a little kid. I was in my 50s. Then I had a medical emergency, and because I had seen him before, that is who the hospital called. When I tried to tell him my symptoms and experience at the time, he told me that was impossible, and I was stupid. I will DIE before I ever see him again. Oh btw, I fired him and hired another Dr while in the hospital. Even the nurses came to check on me after hearing how he was talking to me. Do not go this Dr for any reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a colonoscopy scheduled this past summer by my primary care physician. Dr. Mlot's office was supposed to call and walk me through the prep procdure. They never did. Then two days after the procedure, I called his office in pain the nurse said she would speak to him and get back to me. It was two days later that she called. Not a quality care physicians office.
