Dr. Matthew Steven Oliva, MD

Dr. Matt Oliva is a board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained corneal surgeon specializing in surgical and medical treatments of the eye including corneal transplants, cataract surgery, laser vision correction, pterygium surgery, ocular surface tumors, corneal dystrophies, and infection-related eye disease. He is also available for general ophthalmology, diabetic exams, uveitis, and routine eyecare. Dr. Oliva is deeply passionate about international service. He is an associated physician and board member of the Himalayan Cataract Project, a non-profit foundation aimed at eliminating treatable blindness in the developing world. In this capacity, Dr. Oliva travels to Asia and Africa several times per year to perform sight restoring surgeries and teach local doctors cataract surgery and corneal transplants. He is also dedicated to the development of overseas eye banks that expand access to corneal transplants and he serves as the Associate Medical Director of SightLife, …the countryÂ’s largest eye bank based in Seattle. Dr. OlivaÂ’s expertise led him to a four year post as the official eye doctor for the NBAÂ’s Seattle Supersonics and a position as clinical instructor at University of Washington, teaching cataract surgery techniques to resident physicians. Outside the office, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, kayaking, river rafting, and running. Dr. Oliva is currently accepting new patients.
