Dr. Matthew Peter Olivo, MD

Dr. Matthew Olivo has treated my father, my son and me over the course of several years. He is compassionate, friendly and patient. His listening and teaching skills are assets which enhance a patient's experience. Aligned with Dr. Olivo's outstanding patient care is the outstanding service provided by his entire staff. My family is grateful to Dr. Olivo and his staff for everything.

I was seeing a top notch dermatologist in Voorhees, that I had shown a new small flat dark mark on my leg, and was told it was nothing! I came to Dr Olivo’s office only on the recommendation of a family member. I came in for a body check a year later, and did not even show him the spot I was concerned with. His eyes went right to that spot for a biopsy and there was another on my back. I had a call in two days. I had malignant melanoma, in both areas. I was blessed that nothing more happened in that year. Being realistic I have waited in many offices of specialists, and staff come, and they go. But it is the Doctor and his expertise you would want. I would not care if they had on cowboy boots with a ten gallon hat, or a ballet tutu and toe shoes. God bless you, and thank you Dr O!

Friendly, courteous staff. Dr. Olivo has a very good bedside manner.

Dr Olivo did an excellent job removing cancer from my nose leaving me with a minimum of scarring and disfigurement. The staff was friendly, helpful and informative as was Dr. Olivo. I was always asked if I hand any questions or concerns and to call if any should arise. I feel I was very well cared for.

Dr. Olivo has been treating three generations of us for many, many years. There is almost always a long wait to see him, usually over an hour, but it is because he takes the time he needs with each patient to ensure that each patient gets the best and right care. He is very aggressive particularly when there is a possibility of skin cancer.

Great doctor and fantastic staff

I spent 2 hours (110 minutes, to be exact) sitting in the waiting room, after coming to the appointment 3 minutes late due to road construction. Never should any doctors office schedule so many people at the same time. There were on average 8 other people also in the waiting room for very long periods of time. Upon asking an older lady how long she'd been waiting, I discovered it's not something only I'd experienced. Her wait-- an hour and 10 minutes!! This office has got to get their schedules worked out. The doc himself was ok. Got me in and out in 25 minutes for a mole removal. I'll definitely choose another dermatologist after today's deplorable wait.

The biggest problem with my visit was that between the waiting room and the exam room, I waited 70 minutes to see Dr. Olivo. This is inexcusable in a doctor's office - the patient's time should be equally as valuable as the doctor's. I can't pinpoint what it was about Dr. Olivo but he struck me as a big weirdo - maybe it was the cowboy boots. Posted patient notifications were years out of date - I told the receptionist that I did not bring my referral with me (indicated as required by the sign dated 2009 at her desk) and she said they receive referrals electronically now but the sign remains as a reminder to get a referral before visiting the office. Shouldn't they be mentioning that on the phone when the appointment is made? Wouldn't you think at some point they might spend 5 minutes making and posting a new sign? To the doctor's credit, I was able to make a new patient appointment about 8 days ahead of time, instead of having to wait 3 months as I would have for the first… dermatologist I looked into. Unfortunately, now I know why he had the availability.
