Dr. Matthew C Pauli, DO

Dr. Pauli recently performed an NCS with EMG on both of my arms. (He had also done previous tests for me). He is a very caring, likeable, professional, down to earth doctor. He definitely knows his stuff. I had my tests done at the Chambersburg Hospital. I live in Shippensburg. I left the hospital and wasn't even home and he had a full report with lots of graphs available in my portal! Who does that?? He is amazing. The report was 9 pages long and included lots of graphs, a Summary, an Interpretation as well as notes to help with my diagnosis! Dr. Pauli is awesome! I highly recommend him!!

He has no patient empathy, misdiagnosed, put me through 3 months of excrutiating pain, accused me of "only wanting pain meds", and was a terrible example of a pain doctor. Go to ANYONE else!

I came in for an injured back following a car accident. This Dr. Was very kind and helpful. After a series if trigger point injections and an adjustment I felt like I am beginning to make some progress. This is a wonderful doctor with a very caring bedside manner.

After being told I had severe carpal tunnel and needed to have surgery, I decided to get a second opinion. Dr. Pauli was very attentive, he ran much more testing than I had recieved in the past explained some therapy I could do at home and I have not needed the surgery at all. I will definately be going back to see Dr. Pauli.

I was referred to Dr. Pauli following a car accident. I have been diagnosed with several issues as a result of another accident years ago. It was recommended that i should have botox injections in my neck to help with muscle spasms and severe trigger points. I returned almost 2 weeks later still having pain but now unable to hold my head up without straining every other muscle in my neck. He decided to try traction on me and left me in the room for only a few minutes when the pain became unbearable and we had to find someone to take it off. After which i was nausiated and got sick. Not once did he ask if i was ok but gave my follow up appt and a script for vitamin d to my fiance and he left!!! I was treated by this office as if i were a pill head just out trying to get medicine. Instead of actually trying to help and find anything that would alleviate any pain he asks me " Where do you think we should go from here " I would not reccomend this facility to anyone with any kind of… problems unless you want to be treated like a piece of dirt on his shoes. Absolutely the worst medical treatment EVER!!

I was referred to Dr. Pauli by the Orthopedic surgeon who reconstructed both of my shoulders 2 years ago. I was to have an ENG, or Nerve conduction test, to see if i had any nerve damage that may have been causing my right arm, hand, in in particular, my fingers, to swell, turn purple, and ache, every day. My appointment was for 3:30 and I arrived a few minutes early. I was taken back to an exam room at 4pm. The doctor did not enter the room until 5pm, the time the office closes. No one spoke to me after i was put in to the exam room until the doctor entered. Needless to say I was irritated and felt put off by Dr. Pauli's seeming indifference to patient presence and having had to wait so long. He did not address it in any way but proceeded to perform his test. I was clearly disturbed by his dispassionate and careless demeanor and I began rattling off my experiences about what has happened since the first fusion surgery. This clearly was a mistake. After he concluded the nerve test,… which came out as normal, he commented on my apparent anxiousness, put words in my mouth to say i was there to have him take over pain management, to which my wife and I responded, "NO", because we hadn't even heard of him before now nor were we familiar with what he does beyond the nerve test. Then he said there was no need to treat my symptoms, that the pain was, "ALL IN MY HEAD", and, I NEEDED TO SEE A PSYCHIATRIST to treat the cause of all this. Don't get me wrong, there are circumstances where pain causes stress related symptoms, but he had not done any due diligence by looking at my MRI's or any surgical notes. He did not have any other basis to make a claim of it being in my head, or that it was an affect from trauma that was producing the swelling, purple marbling, or any other observable physical issue. Instead, he became defensive, accused me of wanting pain medication, and reported i needed a psychiatric solution. Following his appointment i saw another specialist who told me my surgeries never fused, that my spine had actually gotten worse since the surgery and that to him, it appeared i may have RSD. NONE OF IT IS A SOMATIC response. It was not in my head. I could not turn my limbs purple. I could not make them swell. I had failed fusions in both lumbar and cervical. The bones had become more diseased, worse since the surgeries. So, my opinion of D.O. MATHEW PAULI with SACRED HEART is; DO NOT SEE DR. PAULI unless you like being treated as a psychotic .
