Dr. Matthew Joseph Pitera, MD

While reviewing Dr. Pitera's reviews online, the picture is clear, he is a DRUG DEALER, hiding behind a medical license. He doles out countless controlled substances to all his patients without any regard for patients' health or public safety. Over the years he has gotten my family member addicted to extremely high doses of controlled substances, who has enough extra pills, then sells them to family and friends. Sad law enforcement has turned a blind eye on this drug dealer.

Dr.Pitera, is a life saver ! He diagnosed correctly when others couldn't. Followed up and counseled when needed. Got correct medicine when other doctors didn't. Is it difficult to get someone on the phone? Of course yes but a very busy doctor. I wait at least 1 1/2 hours in other offices. I will take a caring patient doctor any day. Thank you doctor for helping us all.

The best psychiatrist ever

When my son was seeing the doctor started at age 6years old, at first he seemed to know what to do. Than when our son was a mid teenager Doctor was constantly changing his meds , so their for my son was never stable with his issues. But after we left I finally left we went to see a holistic doctor that seemed to really help, our son is still on 4 meds compare to 20 meds wahta difference.

The doctor seemed to be great for the one visit my son had. He put him on an amazing medication that has helped him drastically with school. However the receptionist manager wife whoever-she-is is absolutely despicable. it is impossible to actually speak to the doctor himself as great as he is she is ruining his practice and the good work that he does. I do not understand how someone in the field of Psychiatry can treat and talk to people the way she does. My son had an appointment and due to the covid-19 I was hoping for a phone appointment she refused was extremely nasty and while on the phone with her she decided to release my son from her husband's care. I am in shock that a nasty woman like this is dealing with psychiatric patients. It is a great great shame.

Receptionist is a word I can't use here.

When i first started going to this practice all seemed to go well other than the fact that it took a long time to get a call back. The doctor was outstanding and always nice... willing to hear out your whole situation. As I started going to him more i realized how rude and ignorant the receptionist is. I walked in there and all you hear half the time is her yelling at one of her kids or patients over the phone. All she does is complain about her kids and try to make you feel bad for her. She is extremely biased towards particular patients. If it wasn't for mary I would probably still be going there

Dr Pitera is a real person, caring and warm despite his personal stuff or maybe because of it is truly doing amazing work

Dr. Pitera is an incredibly helpful and intelligent, man. His secretary doesnt do her job. She refuses to ever call back or pick up the phone no matter when you call during the week - if you miss an appointment you have to go in person just to make another one. And they only accept cash, and do not give recipets or proof of payment in any way. She's his wife, but he'd be better off hiring someone who does their job instead of just phones it in

Dr. Pitera seems to have good knowledge of the medications he prescribes. However, it is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to get him or his office "manager" (and only employee/wife) on the phone. When you leave messages, they NEVER GET RETURNED, When you are finally lucky enough to reach Mary (office manager) on the phone, she will never apologize for not returning your phone calls. I have no doubt that my own mental illness was made WORSE by my frustrating dealings with his office manager. I think it should be criminal to not respond to your patients calls, especially when they are in this area. Can Dr. Pitera not realize how poorly his wife treats his patients??? At this point, I don't care. I need to switch doctors for my own mental health!!!
