Dr Plotkin is very knowledgeable about kidney disease. He explained to me in a way that helped me to understand. He was very kind and considerate and took time to fully explain my condition. I really appreciate him and the research he does.

He lacks bed side skills. He's rude!

I was referred to see him after some test results came back abnormal and my family has a deep history of kidney disease and cancer. I pulled some strings to get in last minute, that must be why he was this way towards me. I flew into town for the appointment, he tried to cancel the appointment an hour before while I was in an appointment in his same office. After the doctor I was seeing who referred me talked to him. He said he recommends that he see me. So I waited out in the waiting area. A nurse came out to me and said,”I looked at your tests I’m not a doctor but you definitely need to see him, come with me.” I came in and 1) he didn’t even want to go over the results with me and acted like I knew 2) he said there looks like a definite lab error for my creatine clearance to be that high. But said he did not want me to retake them and he didn’t want me to follow up with him. Nothings wrong but the tests are wrong? How do you know that if your expert opinion is… that the tests has a lab error? Pretty terrible doctor in my opinion. I’ve had wonderful care at UAMs and this is the first time ever I’m writing a bad review for a doctor. That alone speaks volume of the care or lack thereof I received from him.
