Matthew Poppe, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is also a Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) investigator.

His clinical expertise is in radiation oncology treatment with intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), as well as low-dose-rate and high-dose-rate brachytherapy. His research interests include pediatric, breast, sarcoma, and gynecologic cancers. Poppe participates in the Children's Oncology Group, a National Cancer Institute-sponsored clinical trial cooperative group that studies childhood cancers. Poppe is also board-certified with the American Academy of Family Physicians.

While in active duty with the United States Air Force, Poppe practiced family medicine at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam before becoming an F-15 flight surgeon at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska. He received his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University and completed a family practice residency through the University of California Davis. He later completed a residency in radiation oncology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
