Dr. Matthew Eric Robertson, DDS

My dentist had referred me to a different oral surgeon, but I chose Dr. Robertson because I liked the reviews I found for him online. I was actually looking forward to this appointment because I am anxious to get my dental implant underway. Unfortunately the reviews about Dr. Robertson are overinflated, so take note. To begin with, the clinincâ??s scheduler is ill-informed because, despite describing my condition in depth while scheduling the appointment, I was given misinformation about what was needed. I was told my initial consultation would include the necessary panoramic x-ray and I would be provided with a treatment plan based upon the findings. Once I got into my appointment the nurse told me they would be doing a CT scan. I told her I was not told about a CT scan, asked if it was absolutely necessary and told her I was not prepared to make a decision about that on the spot. I felt like I was being up-sold! On top of that, I brought up my concern that a lot of research suggests… avoiding CT scans unless absolutely necessary. Dr. Robertson proceeded to treat me like I was dim, referring to the fact that theyâ??re considered completely safe and that no long-term effects have been reported. Mind you, this was less than five minutes after he told me that dental CT scans are a new technology that have been around for less than 10 years. He got snide when I pointed out the disparity in his â??information.â?? To top all of that off, he couldnâ??t even provide me with any specific information about the scan and sarcastically half-laughed when I asked for information to take home so that I could mull it over. He then had the gall to say, â??You go home and think about it, then come back when we can have an intelligent conversation about this.â?? Who could have an intelligent conversation with an arrogant jerk who is devoid of the proper medical information? This guy has no place in the medical profession. He shouldnâ??t be working with people in any profession for that matter. Dr. Robertson had better bet that even if I decide to move forward with this procedure, CT scan included, I will not be doing so with him. Thankfully his nurse was very nice and after he left the room she apologized to me. I have a feeling this isnâ??t the first time sheâ??s had to apologize on his and the clinicâ??s behalf. Their only saving grace was that they didnâ??t make me pay for my appointment, but I had made sure to point out multiple times during our conversation that I felt it was a waste of my time and money to have come.
