After returning to the US, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Delaware and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He then obtained his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University with a concentration in Public Health, where he received awards in Physiology and Emergency Medicine. He subsequently completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at Cooper University Hospital, the busiest Level 1 trauma center in southern New Jersey. Afterwards, he continued his training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Stanford, where he served as a team physician for San Jose State University, San Jose City College, Valley Christian High School, and the Bay Area Panthers, a professional indoor football team based in San Jose. Dr. Sikina is deeply committed to community engagement through providing medical coverage for athletes and large-scale events. Throughout his training, he has served on the medical team for many community events, including the Philadelphia Broad Street Run, Philadelphia Distance Run, Santa Cruz Half Ironman, the Rock n' Roll Half Marathon, Stanford Treeathlon, and Valley Christian Football Camp for the Stars. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Sikina enjoys staying active through running, weight lifting, and all things sports. His hobbies also include playing guitar, building PCs, and spending quality time with his wife, Tiffany, and their dog, Evie.
