Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:As a cardiac electrophysiologist (EP), I specialize in caring for patients who have electrical problems with their hearts, such as atrial fibrillation (a-fib), atrial flutter, and SVT. The long-term relationships with patients, continued intellectual challenge of EP, and the opportunity to fix (not just medicate) heart rhythm problems makes EP my passion.What I want my patients to know about me:I strive to know each of my patients as a person, so that I can understand how their arrhythmia impacts their life. Working together with each patient, I try to develop a treatment strategy that gives them the highest possible quality of life.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:When I am not in the hospital, I love spending time with my wonderful wife. Our children keep us very busy and we enjoy family adventures, exploring nature, exercising as a family, and learning together.
