Dr. Matthew Jonathan Spitzer, MD

If I could rate him lower I would. Yet another doctor at VMG that is late and is a liar. Smiled at my trauma response while I was explaining what VMG put me through, lied and said I called his smile disgusting in the report regardless of me clarifying I thought him smiling in response to me being in distress disgusting and not his actual face(I don't make negative comments on physical appearances). He still put it in the notes I called his smile disgusting. Then he also guilt Tripped me with his reason as to why he was 28 minutes late to a virtual visit. He said his last patient was "so sick" to me. I also have chronic illnesses and feel he is sabotaging my medical care. He also doesn't seem to have any understanding around intersex conditions, or nonbinary people. Dr. Spitzer also continued to deadname me in his consultation notes to my PCP. He is unprofessional at best and if you want real care I would not reccomend Dr. Spitzer. I thought I could trust him but I was proven wrong… again.

I've been seeing Dr. Spitzer for more than a year about osteoporosis and other issues. He is very kind, attentive, professional, and if I'm any judge, quite talented in his field. I enjoy my visits with him. I always learn something. He's a keeper!

Doesn't understand non-binary HRT and gender dysphoria, doesn't want to investigate out of the norm conditions or presentations. I keep being surprised at the lack of clinical suspicion beyond you're eating poorly or maybe have a hint of PCOS causing weird testosterone HRT side effects. This sort of care is why people go undiagnosed with thyroid and metabolic conditions for years.

Failed to properly document my health issue. Medical records are not accurate. Because of his failure, and the rapid decline in my health which requires his proper documentation for future law suit against local medication providers failure to provide correct insulin. Complication spread fast. Spitzer failed to document complaints about what I was experiencing. Seemed to not care when questioned about what I was feeling after taking what turned out to being wrong medication. He has cost me any compensation from any law suit due to his lack of care and records. He did offer to doctor the records. I believe that is illegal. Stay away if you want safe and proper medical care.

Threats patients poorly - won't listen - actually asked if I panned to have children - I'm 72 years old with children older than he is - what a jerk!!

HE'S ALWAYS ATTENTIVE, THOROUGH, COMPASSIONATE, AND FRIENDLY. HE IS PROACTIVE, SHARES TEST RESULTS WITH YOU AND GOES OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE AWARE OF ANYTHING THAT NEEDS ATTENTION--EVEN IF IT MEANS WORKING FROM HOME AND CALLING YOU AFTER HOURS. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO SEND ANYONE I KNOW TO SEE HIM. A REAL BREATH OF FRESH AIR WHEN SO MANY DOCTORS CAN'T BE BOTHERED EVEN WHEN YOUR LIFE HANGS IN THE BALANCE.

Please don't go to this doctor. He is and very condescending. His attitude during my entire visit was sarcastic and phony and he is not well informed about dynamic approaches. He also seemed particularly annoyed that I had done research on my own and was not shy about dismissing me many times in the visit. Another case of poor medical care from someone who thinks they know what's right but has very little to offer. For your health's sake, go elsewhere for sure. One of the worst.
