Dr. Matthew David Thompson, DO

Receptionist is pleasant, very busy though. Not enough time to answer phone and assist patients who come in. The nurses go through the motions with no real interest in the patient. Had problems with prescriptions in the past. Some did not get called in, others were not written for a 3 mos. supply so I could mail order them as requested. Woman who handles referrals is most unpleasant and the staff are allowed to be rude to patients. There are signs all over the office saying if you are rude to an employee you will not longer be a patient. If office staff were not rude maybe patients would not talk back. i have had blood pressure checked in 2 different rooms on the same day because it was high in one room. In the other room my BP was fine. In the room that is wrong the doc wanted to treat me for high blood pressure when it really was not high! That room still has the same BP cuff there. Doc used to be patient and caring. Now he is in and out in 3 minutes or less. Too busy to care.

Dr. Thompson, Holly Landin and office and ancillary staff are some of the hardest working and most efficient group of medical professionals I have ever experienced. Their professionalism, while at the same time, their family atmosphere, is rare. Having been an RN for nearly 45 years, I’ve just about seen it all! So, I have a bit of experience w physicians, their methods and their knowledge. To further compliment their practice, my husband and I drive over two hours to place ourselves in their care. So exceptional!!

This doctor and his staff are extremely unprofessional, after going to them for 4 years and dealing with horrible customer experience and unfriendly staff, I called today to request a med refill and they gave so much hard time.. they don’t care about their patients and you are just a number to them.. it’s a very very toxic environment. Plz choose another doctor

Does not respect patients time. Waited 40 minutes for an appointment while staff ate donuts in the break room.

I have been a patient of Dr. Thompson for 5 or 6 years. He use to take time and listen to each patient but now, as with every other Dr I feel as if I am being run through like cattle. Aubri at the front desk is and very helpful and accommodating.

After experiencing this level of care from the doctor and staff, I could not imagine taking my family anywhere else! Our family has been seen for an array of things including annual physicals, thyroid issues, weight loss, depression as well as the occasional illness and have never received less than the best care.

He gets to the heart and root of your issues, and actually listens to his patients. Two downsides though: he’s a loud talker and you can her him speaking to other patients through the walls - and it can take a while to see him once you’re in his office (a little longer than other doctor office visits). But I like him for his empathy and compassion. His staff are kind and empathetic as well.

After moving to Denton five years ago, it was difficult finding a family doctor, until someone recommended Dr Thompson. He is knowledgeable on every issue we've brought to him, and he takes immediate action, often himself and yet also in referring to a specialist. He is friendly in manner, direct in questions, and keeps his word 100% of the time.

Great doctor and great staff

The doctor is very helpful and listens to you. The office staff goes out of there way to make sure you atr taken care of.
