Dr. Matthew Trump

Matthew Trump, DO, FACP, FCCP has been with The Iowa Clinic since 2014. He currently serves as the Medical Director for UnityPoint Pulmonary Rehabilitation. He is an instructor at Des Moines University, an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Iowa and section chief for the Pulmonary/Critical Care division of the University of Iowa — Des Moines Internal Medicine Residency.

Managing complex problems in the intensive care unit and chronic disease care is what originally appealed to Dr. Trump about Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine. The constant challenge and the opportunity to learn every day are additional aspects he enjoys. What tops it all off are patient relationships he builds. Getting to know his patients and their families during serious illnesses, the continuity of care he can provide in the clinic after recovery, and identifying patient goals and working together, all provide him satisfaction. He often runs into his patients and their families in the …community, and he loves the continued conversations they can have as not only their physician but their friend.
