Dr. Maureen Elise Buckley, MD

She presents herself as being all smiles and warm bedside manner. She gives this spiel about trust and you're the patient you hold the power, she's a guide a helper. Then I get all comfortable and start telling her my medical history foolishly thinking she's a sincere listener. She, on her own, gives me her recommendation for a specialty doctor, and I am shocked. No doctor has ever given an insider tip on good doctor from a different specialty. So like a fool, I ask her for more recommendations and a referral. I leave thinking I have met the best, most honest doctor ever. Two weeks later, I get slammed with a bill for talking to her about things "outside" of her scope. What a crook. How is that legal? I guess soon I will start getting a school bill when I ask my son's teacher to help him with his work "outside" of her scope of teaching. How can we build trust if Dr. Buckley doesn't tell the truth and inform her patients that a bill may be forthcoming if we speak about certain things?

Dr. Buckley had very good reviews (not sure if Iâ??m the only one having bad experience with her or maybe people who did have it decided not to speak up) and that was a reason I picked her as my Primary Physician (PP). She seemed really nice at first, she is very friendly and talks politely, saying all the things a person wants to hear, but it turned out to be just a cover for how disappointed I was going to be soon. I had shortness of breath and instead of waiting for blood results (which, as it turns out, would have given her a very CLEAR answer), she ordered unnecessary EKG and CT without even asking me or telling me why they are necessary. When I asked her if I will have to pay for CT and I was told I will not. I thought EKG was part of the annual, so I was sure it was covered by my insurance (especially that the doctor did not mention that it may not). Well â?? I was subject to redundant testing and â?? to add fuel to the fire - was stuck with $500 in medical bills. I contacted… Dr. Buckley to request the correction of the bills, but I was only told that I should have known I will have to pay for the services, as they were not part of my annual visit. When I asked her if she was OK with me changing my PP, she never even bothered to respond to my email. I finally got a new doctor, who later confirmed that the EKG that Dr. Buckley did on me was not fine, as I was told by her. I was put on medication immediately. As for the lab testing, after the results came in and showed the problem, Dr. Buckley ordered a repeat of the same test, instead of digging deeper into the issue and order additional test to look at the issue from another angle. She also omitted other test that was supposed to be done the first time. I saw her checking the test on the order during my visit with her, but for whatever reason it was not listed and it was not done in the lab. So, I had to run to the lab many times to have all necessary/unnecessary tests done. One last thing, there was a very obvious tale tell sign on my body that â?? if she actually looked for as you would expect during annual â?? she would have known immediately that this is most likely the root of my shortness of breath. It seems as Dr. Buckley is a big fan of ordering pointless tests and does not even think how it can affect her patientâ??s wallet. Very, very disappointing...

Dr. Buckley truly cares when she is treating you. My daughter feels very comfortable with her and she is a great doctor.

I was fortunate enough to have doctor Buckley as my doctor in Delaware years ago. If I move to Baltimore, she will defiantly be my first pick for pcp.

AWFUL. My 2 year old son was NEVER able to get in day of. He was never ever able to be seen. He had 3 ear infections in 1 month and they kept telling us he wasn't able to be seen because they were to booked and to send him to urgent care. I expressed my concern that with urgent care he is seeing different doctors and nothing would ever be universal or consistent, they still could never do anything. I even called to be seen and they told me that I could see my doctor in a month because they are just that over booked. I am not one to complain but PLEASE consider going else where if you want to have a doctor that works with you and gets to know you. This is not the place for that. They are always too busy or over booked.

Dr. Buckley is a wonderful doctor. She is caring, very personable and very friendly. When she asks you how you're doing she really cares how you are doing. The best doctor I have ever had!

The doctor's too easy in enabling a depressed patient with continued presciptions of opiates and depressants! Seriously, she needs to remind herself of a patient's past before being so accomodating! She is in jeopardy of a review by her peers!

I've been seeing Dr. Buckley since she started at Claymont and have complete confidence in her abilities.

I find Dr.Buckley to be a good caring physician. She is totally comitted to her patient.
