Dr. Maureen Ellen Mays, MD

I never once thought that I could trust anyone outside of my immediate family with my life. However, Dr.Mays has saved my life in more ways than I could count. Before seeing Dr.Mays I was a medical mess. I thought my young life was basically over. My previous (HMO) doctor just kept giving me the same medications despite my bloodwork results. I got injured at my workplace and the work injury doctor at kaiser gave me so much medication I believe it triggered my diabetes, my liver started doing things it wasn’t suppose to, and I started to visit the ER frequently for pain. No one knew what was going on with me. Eventually my family decided that was enough... So we decided to look for a different doctor and another opinion. Thankfully, by the grace of God, we found Dr.Mays. Within 3 months of first seeing her, and getting my bloodwork, she managed to tweak my medication to perfection. My diabetes in control, my heart happier, my liver and lungs performing as they should! She cared enough… to dig deep into my history and study my bloodwork... She saw me! She “Cared” for my issues and gave me hope again. Through all the pain she managed to show me the way to a better life. I am so grateful to have her as my PCP. This review cannot truly grasp my appreciation. SHE SAVED MY LIFE! She is also not your typical doctor. She is compassionate and true. She listens. She will tell you information the way you need to hear it. She is an amazing person with an awesome team behind her. Everyone in her office is helpful, and Human! She is the BEST doctor I’ve ever had. If you want truth, compassion, time, and healthcare... then she’s the Doctor for you!

Excellent, creative Dr who listens and has ideas to help. Casual and relaxed Dr. I love her and she is worth waiting for!

I have never had a better experience with a doctor of any kind. I went to 4 cardiologists prior to finding Dr. Mays and not one of them made me feel as cared for as she does. She doesn't just look at one issue - she considers that your heart is part of a system and that the systems all have to work together. She is kind and caring, she has the best bedside manner. I find her to be open to talk about any issue I have and she gives knowledge when she has it and is comfortable saying that something is out of her realm and then make suggestions on how I can find the information elsewhere. She is by far the best medical experience I have ever had. It's really great that I only have to see her once a year, but I slightly wish I GOT to see her more. She's just the kind of doctor you would want to have for any issue at all.

Her boundaries are messed up and she is on a serious 5 year probation with her Oregon medical board for her prescribing practices, boundaries issues and other. She would have lost her license if she had not taken the 'deal'. She really needs the direction because she is otherwise a very good doctor.
