Dr. Maureen Therese Nelligan, MD

Dr. Nelligan listens intently, never rushes, shows true care and seems very capable of figuring the source of whatever problem I may present. She is amazing and her office very well run.

Through and caring

Dr Nelligan is the primary care for three family members- two in sixties and one 20 year old. She is very thorough and has helped us identify issues that other Doctors miss. She takes the time to spend with us and her assistant nurse _ Jeffrey- is also the best there is. Dr. Neliigan has guided us through family emergencies and is always there when we need her. Wonderful compassionate manner and knows so much.

Dr. Nelligan is professional, knowledgeable and concern about her patients health. I was very impressed and she in now my primary care physician. he is very patient and provides the required reports in a timely manner.

If you are looking for a knowledgeable doctor with good listening skills, go see her. She and her staff were friendly and professional. I highly recommend her.

Seriously worst doctor ever!

I have high blood pressure. I have been going to this doctor for more than one year. She keeps changing dose for my medication and adding more pills but my blood pressure is not fine yet. In addition one day I was discussing with her some symptoms I was experiencing and while I was trying my best to explain her what I was feeling she was writing my prescriptions on her computer. At a certain point, suddenly she told me that we were done and she added that I was making her anxious with my talking and I should have let her do her job.

Very poor. She does not follow up with very relevant information and therefore prescribes carelessly. I feel she is not a credit to the Montefiore group and should be closely monitored

Dr. Nelligan doesn't follow up on medical tests. More important, she discounts the significance of some test results, including those that are that are well-known markers of "silent" problems that could eventually develop into very serious conditions. Indeed, she dismisses some test results as meaningless, even when they are way out of the laboratory's normal range. Dr. Nelligan might be trusted for minor ailments, but in general, if one presents with a problem that cannot be treated with a prescription or referral, this physician doesn't listen, and she does not seem interested in looking beneath symptoms at a patient's medical history, age factors, life style, diet, and/or exercise levels to discover and explain possible underlying health situations. Dr. Nelligan, in my experience, is just about useless if one is seeking a partner willing to help manage one's overall health into the future. One can get the same or a better level of medical attention in a walk-in clinic.

Dr. Nelligan has a calm and reassuring manner. She is a good listener and fine physician.
