Dr. Mausumi Natalie Syamal, MD

I would not recommend Dr. Syamal for vocal diagnostic visits. I had a poor experience. I was treated like a case and not like a person. My appointment felt very rushed and I did not feel that I was given adequate opportunity to ask questions. I was also denied a follow up appointment because Dr. Syamal "needs to make more time for patients with surgical needs". You don't have 15 minutes? Ever? No video visits either. I recommend looking elsewhere.

Poor bedside manner. Okay as a practitioner but not very pleasant.

It is extremely difficult to find a trustworthy voice and airway surgeon in Allentown or even within an hour vicinity of the area. I had met Dr. Syamal and she spent a little over an hour with me during my consultation and answered all of my questions that I had at the moment. I got home and spoke with my husband and we realized we had a few more questions about my treatment. I was instructed to log into the patient portal so I sent a quick message with my questions. Dr. Syamal had responded within a couple of hours! I didn't even think I would get a response there. I'm very pleased with the communication and short wait time. I feel very safe about the procedure and so happy that I don't have to drive hours away to get the treatment that I need! Thank you Dr. Syamal

When I first came in Dr. Syamal kindly greeted me and explained in detail what was going to happen step by step to ease my nerves. She was very kind and professional. I am happy I was taken care of by her and felt like I was in great hands the entire time. A definite recommendation!

I give Dr. Syamal a 10 out of 10. She is excellent and so is her medical assistant Makayla. The only issue was the front desk staff. Lakisha at the front desk does not greet you. Lakisha does not make eye contact and she does not smile. She almost makes you feel as though you are an inconvenience to her day. Otherwise, my experience with the Dr. and her assistant was excellent and I trust Dr. Syamal.

I saw Dr. Syamal today. She was one of the most delightful doctors I have encountered; she explained everything in a way that I understood. She was open to questions and had the answers in a manner that she really cared about the situation.
