Honestly speaking, he saved my life… Will not find a better physician, in every aspect. Never ever rushes you, never makes you feel uncomfortable asking every question.. My girlfriend is a patient of Dr Deshaw's, treated for what I'd call chronic Lyme. I go in to see him with her when possible (two questioning heads being better than one). While I'll agree that his staff and wait-times can be obnoxious, I have found Dr. Deshaw to be professional and caring and open to all of our questions. I've also done my research, and after questioning doctors, nurses and other healthcare pro's in the NY/NJ metro area, Deshaw's name was met with universal respect and approval.

In 2010 I went to Dr. DeShaw after seeing many doctors who never put the pieces together. He was recommended by my cardiologist, Dr. Shioleno. Lyme Disease is tenacious and it started attacking my heart, muscles, joints, and brain. I came to him looking for help and answers. His diagnosis and compassionate care has helped me survive this disease. I am still a patient, and need ongoing care due to the devastation of this disease, and his staff has always treated me with respect and compassion. I have severe pain from Lyme an coinfections. I asked about something to help pain. None of the drs I was referred to by him would/could write any scripts. The only offered injections. I wasn’t upset til I found out my friend was offered meds and didn’t have to ask. I’m saddened that despite my ongoing multiple health issues I am having a trouble with at home are not being managed. I don’t understand why he writes for many others who have a better quality of life than I do. He has helped me a lot in other ways , but the pain is so severe I sometimes don’t know how much longer I can tolerate it. I exist.. but I’m not living.
