Dr. Max Gerald Garoutte, MD

This is the worst experience that I have received from any company, especially a doctor office that is supposed to care about it's patients health. Their staff gave me incorrect information with no apology from their rude and unprofessional PA. So I placed a Google honest review with just the facts (to help them understand and improve on their services). But now I called back to just schedule the stress tests, etc. And then to find another doctor that truly cares about the patients and apologies if their staff gives incorrect information ...AND now they have refused/denied my tests and my care because I wrote a review telling the truth of the experience that i received. So this just furthers my complaint and I would like all readers to know exactly how they treat their patients (me). So to this office ... I hope a company treats your mother, wife, daughter, etc. How you treated me. Shame on all of you to say you are a medical provider. I am shocked that you have treated me this… poorly when I just asked for information, your staff gave me incorrect information, then no apology for the incorrect information or how it effected me, I wrote an honest review and now you declined me medical care. There are plenty of other heart doctors in San Antonio that do not treat their patients worst poorly. If you are reading this then I would look to another heart doctor also.

Needing a stress test for surgery for the second time, I instantly requested the Office of Dr. Max Garoutte and, again, I am glad I did. All staff professionally performed their respective roles. Especially supportive and personable were Pablo and Richard, who explained things in technical terms and layman's terms. The former for a sonographer friend, and the other for me. Moreover, being from a small town, I found this office to be especially welcoming and, therefore, comes with my highest recommendation.

Dr Garoutte and his staff are professional, caring and accommodating. They will work with you to get the information you need. He will be my cardiologist doctor!

I was in Dr. Garoutte's office for a stress test to be cleared for an upcoming surgery. Nurse Pablo explained things in technical terms as well as layman's terms, the former for a sonographer and the latter for my understanding. Most of all, he was not cocky. Instead, he was patient with me to help me understand. Even now, I recall being impressed with his personable manner. BTW: All staff members were welcoming and cool, but Pablo definitely stood out. I also felt welcomed by the overall environment.

Dr. Garoutte is so easy to talk to, and he doesn't rush you. He also doesn't push Rx drugs (which I'm glad he doesn't) He help me with my problems and wasn't a Doctor that looked at his computer all the time at your visit. I liked that he suggested supplement, vitamins and change in diet to help me. He's the best. I wish other Doctors were as good as he. Dr. Garoutte is one of the BEST!

Dr. Garoutte has an excellent staff who treats patients with respect and care. He personally took the time to listen to my concerns and expain reconmendations needed.

I am seeing all these "old" positive reviews and I am floored. I rarely write a review but feel compelled to share my experience. The office staff was rude, unprofessional, and double booked appointments. They expected you to arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment. However the average wait time I had was approximately 2 hours. Then you are taken to an uncomfortable exam room that is freezing cold to wait some more. The Doctor visit was only about 5 minutes. The entire time he was looking in the chart and not at me. He didn't recall what test(s) he had completed on me. I got the impression that I was just money in his pocket and treated like a number not a person. There was zero bed side manner. This office didn't live up to the hype of these awards. I don't know how he received these awards when he is so dismissive and his staff is disrespectful. I cannot recommend this Doctor.

I'm not sure I can put into words how much my husband and I appreciate Dr. Garoutte and his team! My 52 y/o husband who presents extremely healthy started having chest pains. Made an appointment with Dr. Garoutte and had a stent placed in an extremely timely manner! Dr. Garoutte literally saved his life! We were impressed with our follow up visit. Did not feel rushed at all, which is a BIG deal to me! So nice to have a doctor take their time in answering all of our questions and concerns. We are forever grateful!

I went to see Dr. Garoutte a few years ago when I was under a tremendous amount of stress at work and was concerned about heart issues. He checked me out completely, gave me a clean bill of health and told me to find a new job! I did and have been great ever since. Thank you, Dr. Garoutte!

Dr Max Garoutte is the Very Best of the Best in Cardiology. He is warm/friendly and a very good listener. He is quick to diagnose your problem area(s). His technical reports are very detailed in all aspects and are in print. He is very aware of the illnesses related to Vietnam Nam veterans and Agent Orange. He is an awesome doctor and my wife and I feel blessed to be his patients. His staff is very friendly and helpful. He leads by example. That reflects on his great leadership. You will love this very dedicated Cardiologist. I have highly recommended him to others.
