I do not recommend this doctor. He doesn't care about his patients

Probably one of the worst oncologists I have ever heard of. I have met a lot of his patients and almost nine out of ten died under his care. He doesn't even care about that. Many of his patients were misinformed about their real condition. When they become terminally ill. Dr. Sung never ever visit them during their hospitalization. He just let his patients die. If you don't want to die, don't ever go to see him.

My husband was seen by Dr Sung every month for 5 years for NET cancer. He had blood drawn every 28 days. My husband started to have severe pain and loss of weight . My husband then had a lung collapse as well. Dr Sung never followed up and did not even do a cat scan or an MRI to find the cause of the lung collapse. My husband continued to lose weight and had worsening rib pain. Dr. Sung only took some x-rays and then told me that the pain was most likely from muscle pain. If he had done an MRI or if he had looked at the blood tests that they took monthly He would have been able to diagnose my husbands Advanced Lung Cancer which made him very anemic. I took my husband to the ER where they stated that my husband had a mass in his lung 10 times larger than he had when his lung had collapsed 2 and a half months prior. Dr Sung was contacted and my husband was kept overnight and we were promised that Dr Sung would come and see my husband in the morning. He never showed and my husband was… discharged. I took my husband to another hospitals ER where they gave him a blood transfusion and admitted him. My husband died 2 weeks later from 4th stage lung cancer. This doctor is completely incompetent and I will tell him that in person .

My beloved husband passed away after a month from the diagnose of HCC. We never were told the severity of the cancer! He was admitted to a study of an experimental medication. when we went to see Dr. Sung, my husband was not well and should have been admitted to the hospital, but the doctor was more worried about giving him the treatment. Dr. Sung words: if I admit him to the hospital he will not be able to receive the treatment! The blood test and the sonogram taken prior the visit showed the severity of the case, but nothing was done to help! My husband had the first infusion on Friday, after two miserable days was taken to ER, and passed away six days after; he never regained consciousness and the family did not have a chance to say Goodbye! One the worse thing we experienced was the call from his office, the second day that my husband was in a coma in their hospital about reminding us about the second treatment due on Wed., they were aware of my husband's condition and yet they… had the audacity of calling for the treatment, but he and no one from his team ever came to ER to see their patient!

Its been 5 years since my mom passed away from metastatic RCC and all I could say is He did not care about whats going on to my Mom.It was too late when we try to find a different Doctor/Oncologist.

He had my brother, with advanced stage 4 cancer of the liver, bile duct and spine, make a long trip from Nassau County to the city to have an mri and cat scan. A few days later he had to make that arduous painful trip back to see Dr. Sung to get the results. When we got there, WE FOUND DR. SUNG HAD NOT EVEN TAKEN A LOOK AT THE TESTS AND COULD NOT READ THE CAT SCAN BECAUSE OF EDEMA. IN ADDITION, THE RESULTS OF THE MRI WERE NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. Also, it was apparent that my brother was having enormous problems breathing. Even though there was so much edema the cat scan was not readable, Sung proceeded to send my brother back to Nassau County instead of admitting him right then and there. That night my brother went into respiratory failure and had to be taken on an emergency basis to a nearby hospital where now, near death, a team of doctors worked of him vigorously in order to revive him. As a result he had to undergo acute and invasive procedures to relieve the edema. We were told… that the enormous physical strain of the trips back and forth to Mt. Sinai had triggered the respiratory failure. HAD SUNG HAD ENOUGH CONSCIOUSNESS AND PRESENCE OF MIND TO REVIEW THE TESTS FIRST, HE COULD HAVE SAVED MY BROTHER FROM FURTHER SUFFERING INSTEAD OF MAKING IT WORSE. He remains in the hospital. We do not know where he stands as now he cannot speak. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone.

My mom has stage 3B Bile Duct Cancer. We went to Dr. Sung for a second opinion. Dr. Sung was warm, friendly, compassionate and gave my family an in depth over view of a proposed treatment plan complete with total explanation while patiently answering any and all questions. We came away with more clarity than we had going in. He is awesome and has a great sense of humor! Highly recommend!

He ignored every symptom and complaint my dad had. I personally called him daily explaining that the lanreotide were causes more damage than good. By the time Dr. Sung re-scanned my dad it was too late. My dad passed away 6 weeks after his diagnosis. I spoke to many other doctors this should of not happened. If you try to have him explain something to you, good luck, because all he does is read out of a text book. Horrible!!! took years from my Dad. so sad

Highly incompetent doctor. Cannot answer a simple question about my diagnosis .

Was treating my husband for cancer. My husband started losing weight and was in severe pain and had a lung collapse but was never checked for lung cancer by this oncologist. The cancer was discovered when I had to take my husband to the emergency room. My husband died passed away unnecessarily
