Dr. Maxey Buchwald would rather overcharge his patients and insurance than provide adequate care. I went to his father for four decades and was never oversold on services or lied to about the quality of my teeth in order to solicit more business.

Agree with other review . Staff is not knowledgeable about insurance coverage and do not verify coverage. They bill insurance more than allowed and try to balance bill the patient. Had so many issues with staff we ( family) has left the practice and are going elsewhere. I know the new office is actually verifying coverage before treatment

Clearly the practice appears more concerned about negative feedback than quality of service and dental care as this comment will not be public. While my wife and I have been patients, along with family members, for 40 years our experience since Dr Max Sr left the practice is that turnover in staff has been high, emphasis on "sales" has become prominent and, more significantly, integrity in accounting seems absent. Income appears significantly more important than quality of service. That is, after having been overcharged more than $400, reimbursement was refused/ignored despite having provided insurance documentation of over charging/overpayment with more than one effort to resolve the matter all of which were unsuccessful. We have observed other patients exchanges with office staff that related to similar concerns regarding billing for services and are aware of other longtime patients leaving the practice. Sadly, there was no other alternative for us than leaving for dental services… elsewhere.
