Dr. Maxlyn Lavie Ellison, MD

First off let me say how grossed out i am by the vast amount of obviously FAKE reviews there are listed below. Maxlyn you should be embarassed that you'd be so sloppy as to post the same clearly fake reviews all within days of each other....simply in order to attempt to bury the negative reviews....well you need to do better because posting multiple reviews with in consecutive days of one another as well as on the same time of each month isn't doing you any favors. As commented in anothe rreview off site, she lacks basic understanding of psychiatric principals. Rude, judgemental, and flippant, she is quick to judge and diagnose you with imaginary issues and try to write you up for a medication to treat an issue you are 1; not seeking treatment for and 2: don't actually suffer from. When confronted she gets defensive and will cooly tell you that once you get an expensive ekg, you can then PROBABLY get your medications you need VITALLY even though you've had to spend six months… between TWO appointments just to get these basic necessities met, and not in a SINGLE meeting does she address it and instead wants to talk about nonesense until she cuts your session short by ten-15 mins, and that's AFTER having made you wait 30-45 mins after your initial appointment time after she strolls in late and decides to not only ignore you in the lobby but only acknowledge her receptionist and carry on a conversation infront of you. ON top of this she doesn't even know how to properly handle her medical equipment, pulling a "should be in cardiac arrest" levels for your blood pressure yet doesn't take the time to think "HM MAYBE I"M DOING SOMETHING WRONG". She is not at ALL personable and certainly makes her stoic stance very clear from the get go she does not prioritize empathizing and getting to know her patients and certainly doesn't encourage a caring and attentive environment. Of my 20+ years of medical care, i've never seen someone so unfit to be treating patients and am seriously concerned for any ignorant patients who are unfamiliar of what TRUE care DOES look like and the leaps and bounds it makes for the patient (not to mention actually being able to be adequately medicated and be able to receive priority to get your medications when it affects your functionality). God help any one who may bring their impressionable children to seek treatment with her either because i can only see that child coming out worse in many ways.

After waiting two months to get an appointment to speak to a doctor (and being obligated to pay for a therapist visit that I was not interested in having), Ellison had difficulty I'm sending my prescriptions to the correct pharmacy, and was unable to perscribe me enough medicine in the first place (she only gave me one months medicine for a two month gap), and now she has reduced her already limited availability to make me incapable of seeing her at all. I am shocked at how difficult the whole situation is, especially given the nature of her "care"... people with mental and emotional difficulties really don't need this kind of incompetence.

A very nice and relaxed atmosphere

One of the worst experiences. This is the most incompetent "psychiatrist" I've ever been to. Completely out of touch with the very basics of her field. Totally lacks insight, professionalism and sensitivity.

I have been super impressed with Dr. Ellison's communication in and outside of appointments. Her willingness and the swift nature with which she answers emails is of great comfort to a patient in distress. I trust her while I haven't trusted many psychiatrists.

Can't say enough good things about Dr.Ellison and her staff. They have been incredibly helpful to our family.
