Dr. Mayra Amelia Arzon

Always not able to diagnose your kid but send your kid everywhere for tests and labs. She will run up bills for you and never diagnose your child properly. She worries about covering her own hiney. Not going to fill prescriptions if you have a small balance.

Dr Arzon was the first doctor I took my son to when we moved to Illinois. I had to get him set up with a new primary care doctor and a health confirmation for daycare. I wasn’t pleased during or after the visit. I felt like she wasn’t listening and she was telling me generic information. My son was potty training at the time and was doing well. He said he needed to go potty a few times, and since he was newly trained (3 months shy of 3 years old wearing pull ups at night only) so I excused us and took him. He couldn’t go. He asked again towards the end of the appointment and Dr Arzon told him that her and mommy were talking and he needed to wait. He ended up having an accident. While discussing his medical history, I mentioned that I had been diagnosed with melanoma while I was pregnant and that is a cancer that can cross through the placenta, she pushed her husband’s practice for me. My son also had previously had an episode of giant hives (almost a year before… this visit in another state) and I mentioned it. She “diagnosed” him with something because he had dry skin ... it was winter. I paid our normal copay, then a few weeks later I got a bill for another copay. Because we had talked about the hives, she billed as another appointment because it wasn’t “just a check up.” I challenged that and they said “oh, someone coded it wrong” even though the second code had to do with the hives we had talked about in his history. I was originally told that if you talk about anything other than the check up, she can charge separately. I had already scheduled his 3 year old check up, so I gave her a second chance. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt that the way she talked to me was just because she tells all new patients the same thing. She didn’t listen to me then and treated me as if I didn’t know how to parent my child. That was the last time we went to her. We have a new doctor now that we like so far. I did the standard medical release form. Today I received a letter from Dr Arzon that she will release his records as soon as I paid $41.00 for them. I told them they could keep the records and I would just have the records sent from our doctors in another state from before we moved.

i think she is the best Dr for my daughter I am very happy our dr went on vacation or we would not have found out Dr Arzon She was willing to find a speacilist without hesitation

My two children have both seen Dr. Arzon since childhood. One is now 7 and the other 3. She identified a minute kidney reflux issue in my three year old at a very early age and has completely changed my toddlers/preschoolers life. I don't think any other doctor would have had the "hunch" so to speak about what was really making our child miss milestones and not feel well. She also has recommended us a great pediatric dentist in Champaign and has always been caring, kind and thourough in her exams of our children. She also got us in touch with speech therapy when it was required for my toddler. She may not always be the most warm and fuzzy, but she really knows her stuff! Anyone on here who complains about her with one star may be the problem in the situation!

Dr. Arzon is horrible. I had to wait over an hour on both occasions that I met with her. Her diagnosis were completely incorrect and in my opinion she should be investigated for over medication of children. Worse, she is difficult to understand and doesn't actually interrogate the child's health with using any medical basis.

We have come to Dr Arzon for years, I have highly recommended her to any friends that I know are looking for a wonderful Ped.Dr Arzon is very very good at her job and is so comforting to me when my childs illness worries me. I have extreme confidence in all her decisions.You can tell she truly cares about your childs wellness. Thanks so much Dr Arzon

I have taken my 2 children to Dr Arzon since birth, Dr. Arzon is an absolutely wonderful Dr. Shes extemely thorough in her exams of the children. Shes a very caring, thoughtful person, I would never dream of taking my children to any other Ped, nor would they have ever wanted to go. They are in their teens now, but if sick they still want to go to Dr Arzon and always say call Dr Arzon, see what she thinks!! From a parents perspective shes a dream! Thanks Dr Arzon

I think Sr Arzon is wonderful, she saved my daughters life. She had an illiness that another ped completely missed! I will say that on occasion the office staff could be nicer, but Dr and Nurses are wonderful!

My son needed an Echocardiogram at birth and Dr. Arzon did not call us with the results, we had to call the office a number of times to find out the results. I took my son in for a well-baby check up ($125) and she told me that he was underweight for his age group, which she proceeded to charge me an additional $125 since his checkup was "abnormal". The billing staff was very rude. I claimed she could not do that because it wasn't right and I was told that "she CAN do that, she DID do that, and YOU have to pay it". I am very unhappy with my experience with Dr. Arzon and will never take my child to see her again. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO SEE DR. ARZON

Dr. Arzon is a wonderful pediatrician and my kids like her too. They aren't afraid to go to the doctor nor are they afraid of the nurses (which are wonderful too). She is great with follow up appointments and prefers that you do follow up when the child has been sick. Do not hesitate to call her, you won't be disappointed.
