Dr. Megan Mrstik Bogart, MD

I was irresponsibly emailed expectations of a procedure to be done less than 24 hours from the actual appointment date. It was a squamous skin cell cancer removal. Having not getting the information in a timely manner and not having insurance for over 20 years, I had several questions regarding the payments and procedure itself upon showing up to the appointment. I asked about the possibility of incremental payments and was looked as if I should know that it would not be a possibility whatsoever. In fact, I was told, "if you get a service done, you are required and expected to pay for that service, like always with insurance. " It was said without a shred of empathy or understanding. I suffer from major anxiety issues and when in certain stressful situations my entire body can get visibly and uncontrollably shaken, It was clearly happening at this point. After noticing my frustrations, I was then immediately offered that incremental payment option. Confused and anxious at this… point, feeling lied to until once they realized I was upset. This all became trivial and unnecessary to me and was feeling very uncomfortable about being there period. Especially knowing they are about to cut skin cancer out of me. Dr. Megan Bogart finally comes in to see me and her first question to me is, "why is it that her staff handling my questions felt offended" I was absolutely shocked to say the least! I instantly became overwhelmed with nerves and anxiety flooded my system with Dr. Megan Bogart's demeanor towards me. I asked Dr. Bogart if her staff had received any threats or name calling of any sort to warrant this line of questioning because I did not understand and was shocked. She said no, because I did not or would not have. I only voiced my frustrations from receiving the information less than 24 hours from the procedure, which your office admitted was wrong on their part. Not being treated well from simply asking about incremental payments and looked as if I should be aware of this was very upsetting and confusing to me. Upset, shaking, nervous, and in shock, I asked Dr. Megan Bogart if and why does it take someone to get visibly frustrated to offer something you said was not possible initially. It was your office's fault for dropping the ball and sending me the procedure information and expectations less than 24 hours from the appointment. She kept staring at me with her arms crossed watching me visibly shake and nothing I said made a single difference. Not once did she ask me how the situation went from my perspective or how I felt the staff handled me, not once. I ultimately ended up leaving because I did not feel safe or comfortable with her cutting into me. It was a blessing because I found an an amazing office, very personable very kind and they took the time to explain things and make me feel right at home. So I wanted to thank you Dr. Megan Bogart, thank you for your front desk, your billing department, and you yourself for treating me so horribly that I found a much better course of action. ** Update, not only did I find a different office who has been wonderful, personable, and an extremely very caring office, the procedure cost an astonishing 50% Less!!!!**

If I could give Dr. Bogart 6 stars, I would. She has treated me 2x for basal cell. I’ve found her to be knowledgeable, caring, and extremely talented in her discipline. A rare gem!!

Dr Bogart must be an artist as well as a proficient practitioner of MOHS. I made my semiannual visit for cancer removal, and as always a few weeks later my wife and golf buddies can not identify where the work was performed. Great staff surrounds her too.

Dr. Bogart is thorough, Professional, and finds a way to leave no scars. She personally follows up with a phone call the day after surgery. Communicates well with patients!

Dr. Bogart is the most caring physician I have ever had the opportunity to visit. I had severe skin cancer and the medication was $3000 a month here in the US. She researched and found I a place I could get the same medication for $83.60. I have taken it for 6 weeks and have NO new skin cancer spots.

Brilliant Doctor! My father was extremely happy with the treatment he received and said that he didn't feel a thing. Also he said that Megan was the nicest Doctor he'd ever met. I'm suggesting Dr. Bogart to all my friends in need of her expertise.

In addition to the waiting room wait, Dr. Bogart kept me waiting for more than 30 minutes. So that, heaven forbid, she didn't have to spend more than the absolute minimum with her patient, her nurse had suspended me high in the air in an inverted position and slathered with gel so I couldn't even read a book while I waited. Of course the gel dried up by the time she finally arrived. There was no excuse as to why no one on her staff kept me informed during that excessive wait time. These cosmetic procedures are not covered by insurance and are quite pricey -- for that, I expected to be treated better. I was on time for my appointment, but her cheery blow off of her commitment to respect my time ensured that I will never return. Sarasota is swimming in better dermatologists!

Dr. Bogart is one of the best doctors I have ever been with. She and her staff were very caring and well trained. I suggest if you live in the area to go there!
