I had been a bedside nurse in critical care for 10 years when it became increasingly more evident that we needed a stronger presence in the community to focus on wellness and disease prevention. Advanced practice clinicians play an important role in medical practices, expanding access to patient care in our communities.
I love being a nurse practitioner, being a member of the treatment team, and using my training to connect and communicate efficiently with patients to help empower them to be active in their own care. It’s bittersweet to meet patients going through some of the worst times in their life—struggling with chronic gastrointestinal conditions or new diagnoses, including cancer— but I’m grateful that I get to be involved in their care and help however I can.
In my off time, you can find me and my husband at the ballfields with any one of our four children, attending church or at home with our dog, Millie.
I was raised locally and attended school here …and my family was born in the Bayhealth system. This is home, and my patients are my neighbors. It’s my commitment that they be treated well and given the best care that I can offer.
