Dr. Megan Ewing Lewis Grotefend, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Lewis for many years and I loved her. Don’t know what happened between her and these other people, there’s always 2 sides to every story. She did hire a front desk person that was awful but she got rid of her as soon as she figured it out. She has always listened to me and had built up a great practice. The only problem I had with her is she moved to New Zealand, so glad she’s back but I truly wish she had a regular practice. She’s an awesome person and doctor!

She will talk down to you, dismiss your concerns, tell you your child’s symptoms are impossible (even though you watched them have these symptoms with your own eyes), then tell you to leave when you keep asking about the “impossible” symptoms. In the end I called her a “b——“ because she is. She also told my two year old daughter “good luck with her” as she looked at me and tried to shut the door on me. I flung that door open quicker than snot and told her if she ever speaks poorly of me to my daughter again she’ll have a big issue on her hands. At that point she told me not to “physically” threaten her. ?? No one was ever physically threatened. All that happened was she refused to treat my daughter bc she was mad that I got irritated that she dismissed my concerns. We went to Durango ER after this where my “impossible” symptoms were noticed the ER dr as well as dr. Homer here in town. Durango and Homer are awesome. This lady is a joke.

I agree with the review titled "Unprofessional" from long ago. They are onto something that still resonates in 2019.

Dr. Megan E. Lewis does not like to have her medical opinions or care plans questioned. She brings her personal and family problems to work which interferes with your patient visit. Will discharge you as a patient without notice or follow-up care with no qualms. Charges a separate fee just to be a patient and requires upfront payment and does not accept or file insurance. Receptionist unorganized and forgetful.
