Dr. Meganna Lauren Martin

I am writing to regarding the unprofessional, dismissive, and outright negligent treatment I received from Dr. Meganna Lauren Martin in the Emergency Department at Kaiser Permanente Antioch on 2/14/2025. I arrived at the ER exhausted, disoriented, and physically unwell due to severe, long-term hormonal insomnia. I had not slept for three days, and my son, deeply concerned for my well-being took me to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Instead of receiving proper care and evaluation, I was met with hostility, humiliation, and baseless assumptions from Dr. Martin. Dr. Martin failed to review my medical history and instead jumped to harmful and offensive conclusions. She treated me as if I were a drug addict or mentally unstable rather than a patient suffering from a documented, long-term medical condition. Despite my clear history of insomnia and hormonal imbalance, she completely disregarded my symptoms, refused to listen to me, and instead focused on patronizing and scolding… me about my mental state—without any medical basis for doing so. In addition to her appalling bedside manner, lack of empathy, and failure to provide competent medical care, Dr. Martin went so far as to place me in a room under security watch, further escalating my distress rather than addressing my medical needs. This treatment was not only unnecessary but outright cruel. She kept me awake the entire night, adding to my physical suffering and completely ignoring the reason I came in—severe sleep deprivation that was already making me feel disoriented and unwell. Her complete lack of professionalism, failure to assess my actual medical condition, and refusal to provide proper care not only worsened my suffering but also demonstrated her incompetence as a physician. No patient should have to endure such treatment, especially when they are already in distress and seeking help. Dr. Martin’s behavior was not just unhelpful—it was harmful.
