Avoid this doctor at all costs — completely incompetent and dangerous! I was a patient of Dr. [Name] for over nine months, seeking treatment for severe iron deficiency without anemia — a condition extremely common in gastric bypass patients, which I am (12 years post-surgery). My iron, % saturation, and ferritin levels were all critically low, and I was experiencing serious symptoms: rapid heartbeat, heavy breathing, and fatigue — all classic signs of dangerously low iron levels. Any competent hematologist should have recognized this as urgent. Instead, this doctor dragged me through an endless maze of unnecessary and irrelevant testing: heart tests, lung capacity testing, neurological scans, sleep apnea studies, testosterone panels, colonoscopy, MRI’s, and countless rounds of bloodwork. He seemed determined to test for everything under the sun except the obvious and urgent issue at hand: my severe lack of iron. Despite being otherwise in perfect health and having textbook… laboratory evidence of iron deficiency, he refused to prescribe the most basic and appropriate treatment — IV iron therapy, the standard solution for post-gastric bypass patients. This is not an experimental treatment; it’s the medical norm. Yet he stalled for months while my condition grew worse and my quality of life plummeted. When I finally confronted him about these pointless tests and his refusal to act, he proposed something outrageous — that I submit to a spinal needle procedure to extract synovial fluid to “test for rare cancer abnormalities.” At that point, it was clear this wasn’t about good medicine — it was about insurance billing or sheer incompetence. If I had continued under his care, my health would have been in serious danger — possibly fatal. Do not go to this doctor. He is unqualified to manage hematologic conditions and will waste your time, your money, and possibly your life chasing irrelevant tests instead of providing life saving treatment. Bottom line: This doctor is either a scam artist or dangerously incompetent. Save yourself the suffering. Find a physician who listens, understands basic post-bariatric medicine, and treats proven conditions rather than inventing new ones.

I had been having issues finding doctors that are reliable in South Florida, however it’s safe to say that Dr. Hepgur is someone I can trust. He respects his patients and is efficient in his work. He diagnosed me with Multiple Myeloma and he is truly genuine about his procedures. I cannot recommend any other doctor, but I can say that Dr. Hepgur and his staff are the best people.

As a health care professional myself, I would definitely refer patients to Dr Hepgur. He educates patients and their families about their disease and has very pleasant bedside manner. He is very up to date with what’s going on in the Oncology world.

Dr. Mehmet F Hepgur is an exceptional, selfless and dedicated doctor who puts his patients interest first. He make sure his patients are well Carter for and he follows through and make sure they are satisfied and comfortable. He is a very smart and an experience oncologist. He is very polite and will absolutely refer him to future patients.

This was my first encounter with Dr. Hepgur. He is very pleasant, easy to talk with, and has a fine bedside manner. He explained the course of treatment he felt would be best for my type of Cancer, even drawing pictures outlining the organs affected, and how they become comprimised. All in all an easy first visit under the circumstances, and I would recommend him highly.
