Dr. Mehrdad Hamzeh Langroudi, MD

I recently had a shoulder surgery with a well known orthopedic surgeon from NY area, when I asked him in the office about the anesthesia part of my surgery, he mentioned Dr. Hamzeh as the anesthesiologist he normally worked with, and talked very positively about my up coming anesthesia experience along with the major orthopedic surgery he was planning for me to have. All I can remember is that I met Dr. Hamzeh, he explained how he would help with the anesthesia, the protection I needed during the surgery ( I am the recipient of a cardiac bypass surgery) for my heart and also the pain normally associated with that type of surgery... all I can say is everything went well, I had the best sleep and obviously the safest protective anesthesia and a totally pain free experience after surgery, I only had very minor pain almost 36 hours after the surgery very manageable with simple Tylenol.

Dr Hamzeh Langrodi is an excellent, well mannered, pleasant, and overall great doctor. He really went out of his way to make me comfortable. I totally recommend Dr. Hamzeh and he is a great person

The most professional anesthesiologist I came across, I was anxious and going crazy, He not only did help with my son's surgery , he made the whole experience a pleasant one.

Dr. Hamzeh was my husband's anesthesiologist for an orthopedic procedure, then a few months later, I wanted him to be our anesthesiologist for my son for another orthopedic procedure, in both instances ,I was impressed by his level of knowledge and professionalism, he answered all our questions before the procedure taking enough time ( I was very nervous when my youngest son was having surgery he saw that and knew how to approach us ), making sure we understood, both my husband and son , despite complicated operations did well thanks to him,I was very vocal about the quality of care he brought to my family and talks positively about both my surgical and anesthesia experience.

He's so unprofessional. I'm not a complainer or unruly patient. I've had many surgeries with other anesthiologists and never had a bad experience. He happen to work at the facility I was having my procedure for that one day. I guess they were shorthanded and needed him to cover the regular anesthesiologist. When i was in the operating room, I asked him what the name of the medicine was that he was about to inject me with, and he joked around saying Milk. The second time, I told him, seriously, what's the name of the medicine. He again replied jokingly, milk. By the third time, I told him sternly to tell me the name and he said milk and just injected me with the medicine to shut me up. I'm only under anesthia for 10 minutes for back pain injections, so when I woke up I told the nurse I wasn't happy with what he did and felt violated that someone would inject me to end a conversation and refused to tell me, the patient, what was going in my body. The nurse informed the head male nurse… who apologized repeatedly. He brought Hamzeh in by me thinking he'd apologize, but instead Hamzeh laughed at the situation. Hamzeh said he didn't tell me, because I wouldn't know the medicine. I told him he shouldn't assume what I know or don't know. I asked him several times how he would feel if someone injected him with something and refused to tell him the name of it. He ignored me and never answered. Then he said he was joking around and I told him when a patient repeatedly asks a question about medicine, he should just answer in a professional manner. He finally came up with a 3rd excuse saying that he didn't tell me the name of the medicine, because I wouldn't remember when I woke up. Obviously, i remembered everything. Like I said previously, I'm only under anesthia for about ten minutes. He never apologized and walked out. The head nurse said he thought Hamzeh would have apologized. He agreed that Hamzeh was very disrespectful and unprofessional. The doctor called actually called me later that night to apologize for my terrible experience. I don't know who would employ Hamzeh on a daily basis when he takes advantage of his role and profession.

I have worked alongside this anesthesiologist is the past. This MD is quick thinking, up to date in his practice, open to innovation while always placing the patient under his care first!

This doctor knew obviously his field of medical speciality, well educated and with great manners and professional.
