Dr. Mei Yu Lai, MD

Wish I could give a 0. This doctor does not listen, and gets "stuck" on one comment and cannot move beyond it. I am new to the area and it is hard to find an internist, so I kept trying to give her another shot which was a big mistake. My third visit was cancelled - she was on leave - and all I needed was prescription refills. I was assigned to a "fill-in" doctor who had been told I was coming for a condition from which I do not suffer. When I corrected this with the nurse, I was told that the fill-in could not order the routine meds since I am not her patient. I spoke with the supervisor, who was able to notify Dr. Lai of my needs (these are generic medications which I have been taking for years). I had clearly stated the pharmacy I use; however, Dr. Lai did not call in the scripts in a timely manner, but did manage to call them in to the WRONG pharmacy. Never again - she is the worst doctor who has no attention to detail, and lacks empathy and basic communication skills.

They want u to be on time every appointment no later than 5 minutes after, but yet they take 1-2 hours just to see you and take 5 minutes in the back and youre out. Pain specialists FYI if a patient sits for too long at ur office they will be in Pain by the time they get up

She was not great at listening to my concerns but was very attentive and seemed knowledgable . He nurse threw a rude fit when I would not weigh and remained very combative through the whole appt.

Dr Lai was up to date on my chart,medications,etc. She gave good advice, set up procedures that were needed. I was very satisfied.
