Dr. Meilan King Han, MD

Dr. Han has been my physician for 10 years. She is very competent! I recommend her to anyone who is seeking a Pulmonologist. She is a very detailed and passionate about her work. Not only is she a stellar physician, she is also a genuine person who truly cares about her patients. Dr. Han has been a blessing.

It is a grave disservice for U of M to claim they have a lung transplant program. Dr. Han has a smug, condescending demeanor and very poor communication skills. Never felt like I was in competent hands as she was “indifferent.” Always pushed the same drug every visit. Later learned her recommendation was not for my benefit but for her financial gain. Google “At least six Ann Arbor area doctors top $100K in drug company moonlighting.” I would not put my life of in Dr. Hans hands nor U of M.

Dr Han has been my pulmonologist for almost 14yrs. She exceeds every superlative for knowledge, treatment practices, care and personal attention to all of her patients. Additionally she is one of the top researchers in the world. Anyone who has the opportunity to have her as their doctor is extremely fortunate.

I took my Dad who was diagnosed with ipf to see her about getting on the lung transplant list. Upon entering the room she seemed smug and uninterested. My Dad was extremely nervous and trying to make conversation. She Totally ignored him as she sat silently reviewing his CT scan. Finally she turns to him and says “ you have pulmonary fibrosis and it’s severe. A lung transplant is a crap shoot and has a 90% survival rate after one year and a 50% survival after 3 years. Here at the University our cutoff is 65 and well your 64” I was totally appalled as my Dad sat in silence. I mean what a rude and uncaring attitude. Needless to say we never returned . I would not take my dog to her!
