Dr. Melaney Pearl Caldwell, MD

Dr Caldwell and staff is amazing!!! Dr Caldwell is the most loving and caring pediatric doctor I have ever seen. I’m so glad I found her. I love her natural side of things too. I’d give her ten stars if I could??

My 3 sons were new patients, I drove almost an hour and a half one way for school/sports physicals because of the great reviews. I was told to be there at 1:45pm for a 2pm appointment. I arrived at 1:55 and waited patiently until 4 before being seen by Dr. Caldwell. When she finally came in she didn't explain her process nor introduce herself to my kids and I. The boys were fully clothed and she didn't have on gloves so we were surprised when she started examining my youngest son's genitals without warning. Nevertheless we laughed it off and she examined my middle son. While doing so she asked about school history, grades, behavior, and personal things. Midway through the visit someone knocked on the door and said another patient was ready, so she said "I'll be right back" and left. It was now 4:30. After 25 minutes of waiting the Dr. came back with no apology nor explanation and continued asking questions I had already answered. I calmly explained to her that I had been waiting for… over 2 hours, had a long drive home, hadn't eaten, and had to get back for open house for my kids school. I asked if she could go ahead and fill out the forms because I had to go and would now get caught in traffic. She said no and that the wait is normal because of back to school. I said "ok". She asked me a couple more medical questions about my son that I had previously answered and if I had any concerns. Again, I answered calmly "no" she stated, "so your only concern is their grades and bad attitudes, I can see where they get it from" and walked out of the room. My kids were shocked and offended, as was I. She gave my forms to a nurse and never came back. After waiting a while I knocked on the docs office door and said, "excuse me, was I disrespectful or rude to you?" She got loud and rolled her neck/eyes saying that I was rude for telling her I had to leave and not wanting to wait. I explained to her that it was for my kids' open house and she said "that isn't more important than this, you can call them and tell them you'll be a couple hours late!" I calmly told her I didn't come to her to argue and that I apologize if I came off offensive, I told her I'm a disabled veteran with PTSD and that I don't do well with long distance driving and get anxious in traffic. She was loud, cut me off, and said, "Maybe if you waited I could tell you why your kids have different father's who aren't involved in their lives, one wouldn't have almost failed school and need in home therapy!" "If you Google my practice you'll see that the long wait is consistent here, that's the problem with "Us" we wait for hours for phones and shoes but have problem waiting when I'm trying to help." I again told her calmly that I waited until I could no longer do so because I have other obligations. She said she accepted my apology and she went to her next patient. I have never waited hours for a phone or shoes, nor have I ever experienced such unprofessionalism in my life! My kids nor I ever raised our voices at her, called her names, nor did we disrespect her in any way, she's my elder and I wasn't raised that way! She used personal information I had just given her in confidence to attack me as a mother and person, and my children, while they watched and listened. The positives were that her staff was very polite and apologetic for everything, they took care of everything I needed, and my sons told me how proud they were of me for the way I handled myself. Open house was from 4-7 and I made it at 6:30. It was our first and last visit!

Dr Caldwell is the best of both worlds. An MD with a belief in natural healthcare. I trust her 100%!

Dr. Caldwell was an excellent doctor for myself and my family members in our younger days. Whenever you had an issue, she would go above & beyond to figure out the causes instead of just treated the symptoms. She even called to check on me once I was too old to visit her. I would recommend her to everyone!!

Even tbough this was some years ago Dr. Caldwell and my children are grown now I still remember how GREAT She was...we had just moved from N.Y. and I was looking for a good pediatrician and someone told me about her...so hlad they did ..Trust me you won't be disappointed.

The office could be cleaner and the office staff could be nicer but I have nothing but positive words for Dr. Caldwell. They need to add an after hours line and call back sooner to make an appointment.

We LOVE Dr. Caldwell!! We drive 45 mins to see her and it is soooo worth it! I would drive farther if I had to. She is all about healing your child and not just treating symptoms. She gets to the real problem and encourages a natural approach. I tell everyone about her and how loving, caring, and knowledgeable she is.

Dr.caldwell is aewsome! She takes the time to listen to every question I have...and takes her time correctly answering them. She is really good with my 2 month old daughter...the staff there are respectful as well. I would reccomend dr.caldwell to anyone who wants there child well taken care of!

Dr. Caldwell is the pediatrician parents dream of. She cares about each child, takes her time to make sure we understand everything, and leaves no stone unturned when there is a problem. She answers after-hours pages in a matter of seconds. We are fortunate to live right down the street, but I know others who drive 45+ minutes to make her their pediatrician. Highly, highly recommended!

This office was rude, with no kind of bedside manner. I am a nurse so I understand what process needs to take place in order to care for patients. Dr. Caldwell herself was rude and left behind a taste so bad in my mouth she just lost a patient. She didn't even know that my child was a boy before speaking to me. As i said before she lost a patient.
