Dr. Melanie Lynn Jackson, MD

The most unprofessional and negligent medical "professional" I've ever encountered. First, she is consistently HOURS late to every single appointment, and it's a known fact throughout the office. Even if you schedule the first appointment of the day, she shows up to the office well beyond your appointment time (for unknown personal reasons, according to her staff), and she never offers an apology or explanation (although the staff tries to apologize on her behalf or reschedule you). I cannot imagine another profession where this would be acceptable in the slightest, and it just shows her lack of care for her patients. Second, she is dismissive of patient concerns and not trustworthy at all. She speaks in generalities and is quick to jump to assumptions without critically thinking or diagnosing individual patients, and she rushes through appointments (probably because she's so late all the time). After our first appointment, I wasn't offered a chance to discuss my concerns or symptoms.… She sent me off for blood tests without explaining why or what the tests were. When I showed up for the tests, the lab told me she requested male-specific tests that couldn't even be performed on a female, which was extremely concerning and I had to do my own due diligence with her office and the lab to get the rights tests done eventually. This not only delayed any sort of diagnosis, but was time consuming on my behalf as the patient - why was I doing the doctor's job for her? Luckily it was only tests that she got wrong, but I couldn't imagine if she prescribed me a medication or procedure with this same lack of care and precision. It's extremely concerning to say the least, and I don't know how she still has a medical license. At our second appointment, she read me the test results, prescribed me an antibiotic and told me to start a certain diet, but provided little to no information about what the results meant, what the antibiotic would do, and didn't provide any information at all about what the diet entailed. When I asked for further information or asked questions about a possible diagnosis, she dismissed me and didn't provide any answers. It didn't feel like I was being seen by a doctor at all, as I had to do all of the research myself. Truly unprofessional, negligent, professionally unethical and I cannot recommend enough that everyone stay away from this "doctor".

If I could give ZERO stars I would. This doctor Jackson was the on call physician for my gastroenterologist (her colleague). I called after hours because I was experiencing an acute change in my condition, and my medication was at the end of its supply. I called her, not knowing what (if anything) she would be authorized to do after hours, but I needed to try to speak to someone. I was exceedingly polite in asking for assistance and she curtly said there was nothing she could do and rushed me off the phone/borderline hung up. I attempted to call the main answering service afterwards, and mistakenly redialed her number. I apologized again for the inconvenience, and asked if there was a way to page or even email my regular physician as I was in distress and hadn’t been able to get in contact. She rudely told me to go to the ER and then again HUNG UP ON ME. I don’t know how someone so rude and disrespectful can be left in charge of *anything* much less anyone’s health. Avoid this woman… like the plague if you care anything about compassion, or a helpful attitude/spirit from your physician. Two thumbs WAY down. What a horrible experience. ZERO STARS!

Dr. M.Jackson My procedure when fine. My main complaint is her professional manner,The Doctor doesn’t not keep her word .. That means a lot.Would I go back to her ...No!!!

I followed the prep instructions. Had not followed the 5 day before procedure because I booked 4 days before and wasn't told to read instructions right away. I eat a very high fiber diet. I called them and told them I hadn't followed instructions. They said it would be OK. For a miralax prep they only gave my half of the necessary dosage. So the colonoscopy couldn't be done because the prep was wrong. Not happy. Not going back. Sat in the waiting room forever; these days I's rather be outside. Horrible experience. Not recommended.

Wait time for Your appt with Dr Jackson is normally very long. Unless you have nothing else on your schedule . I waited for an hour one day and she still hadn’t seen her first and second patient yet. I was the third patient fir her this day. I ended up leaving from the appt avvvbbkifdx

I waited for one hour for dr Jackson and she never showed up for my appointment. Office staff did not know where she was and was not able to get in touch with her. I left. Unbelievable! So unprofessional. I'm going elsewhere.

Dr. jackson is very competent and a pleasant person. I'm sure she knows her stuff. However, I found her to be in quite a rush after my 2 proceedures and she spoke very quickly when explaining what she found during my endo and my procto, I was a little out of it from the aneshtesia and had difficulty following all her commentary. Fortunately , my wife was there with me and was able to remember everything she said. Also, I asked her for a prescription for hemmrhoids and she forgot to phone it in to CVS so I had to call her 5 days later to remind her assistant to do that. She is a very pleasant person and i believe she is very good at what she does. I have a follow up with her today and I am anxious to tell her about some new developments.

Honestly, there are enough professionals in the Annapolis area..that you can afford to select someone else.

Dr. Jackson is wonderful. Her staff is knowleadgeable about their position and answered question in regards to insurance issues and informed me completely of what I was to expect in regards to my procedure as far as what I had to do for the prep and for my end of the insurance responsibility.
