Dr. Melanie E Royce, MD

Unlike previous reviewers, I found Dr. Royce's bedside manner to be quite engaging. She spent over an hour discussing my cancer diagnosis and personally followed up with 2 phone calls after my first visit, However, bedside manner isn't really that important to me. I don't need a friend, I need an exceptional oncologist that can cure my cancer. I was referred to her by MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and told she is a "world class oncologist". She has indeed proven to be the most competent and qualified oncologist I can find in New Mexico.

This doctor seems very smart but she was so rude to my husband amd me.. I felt humiliated by her. She interupted me many times and would not listen just always talking about the cancer. I was very disappointed.

Dr. Royce's bedside manner is lacking all around. She is moody, arrogant, talks at you vs. to you, is uncaring in her demeanor, and condescending. I am only sorry I began seeing her and would never see her again. Steer clear on this doctor if you want a professional, courteous, caring doctor. I am a master's level clinician and work in the health care field. I am predisposed to be empathic and sympathetic towards physicians, however she should not be in the medical field, let alone in oncology. She left me feeling worse, as a cancer patient because of her rude, dismissive manner and tone. Find yourself a better doctor.

She is a wonderful God sent doctor that really cares about her patients. she is friendly, professional and makes you feel comfortable. Dr. Royce takes her time with her patients and explains everything.I highly recommend her to anyone that is battling cancer, she has been heaven sent.
