Dr. Melanie Hardee Spooner

Melanie Hardee Spooner, D.M.D.
Dr. Melanie Spooner is a native of Monroeville, Alabama. She attended Auburn University and graduated summa cum laude in 1993 with a degree in Zoology. While attending Auburn, Dr. Spooner was a member of the ODK National Leadership Honor Society.
Dr. Spooner achieved her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1997, where she was a member of the OKU Dental Honor Society. After dental school, Dr. Spooner pursued advanced clinical studies through a General Practice Residency at the University of Colorado Health Science Center. She joined Dr. Wood in practice in 1998. She and Dr. Wood have a shared philosophy of providing comprehensive dentistry with a caring, personal touch.
Dr. Spooner has served as a faculty member for the University of Alabama School of Dentistry and was later on the school admissions committee. She is active in local and national dental organizations and committed to supporting …her patients with current and informative patient education.
Each year, Dr. Spooner participates in numerous hours in a variety of courses (far beyond the number required for licensing), including training on dental implants, cosmetic porcelain veneers, dental sedation and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Spooner is married to Alan Spooner, and they have three children, a son and twin daughters. She enjoys outdoor activities such as swimming, running, biking and hiking. Dr. Spooner likes to stay active in her church and community. She and Alan enjoy photography; all of the beautiful landscape photography you will see in our office is their work!
