Dr. Melanie Steckelberg is a Nebraska native who received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry.  Shortly after graduation, she opened her own dental practice in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Dr. Derryl Ogden then gave her the opportunity to take over his practice when he retired. 
While in the first years of her private practice, Dr. Melanie Steckelberg was a faculty member at the College of Dentistry in Lincoln for five years.  She enjoyed working with dental students as a part-time clinical instructor in the undergraduate Periodontics clinic.  This position was given up once Dr. Steckelberg became a mother.  However, she does hope to return to teaching at the College in a few years.  Continuing education is important to Dr. Melanie Steckelberg, and she works hard to …stay on top of emerging dental research. 
Dr. Melanie Steckelberg enjoys spending Wednesday and Thursday afternoons working as a dentist at Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department.

When not working at Steckelberg Dental, Dr. Melanie Steckelberg enjoys jogging with her husband and daughter, attending various church functions, and spending time with family and friends.
