Dr. Melanie Van Sise, MD

When I met doctor van sise I was 8 weeks pregnant and had concerns about genetic issues that ran in my family. Not only was she not knowledgeable on the topic, but seemed extremely dismissive. I asked why they chose a specific genetics test called panorama and her response was because we just have a good relationship with them. She also was judgmental regarding my concerns stating that I used to smoke so why should I care so much about genetics issues. I obviously quit, she offered no smoking cessations options. She was quick to push anti depressants on me tho. The office is another issue. After this initial visit, I was very concerned with using them and was trying to look for another doctor. The office nurse was pushy that I make a decision very early in my pregnancy and even after I told her my concerns, was pushy and almost rude to the point I just told them I wasn't coming back. They still felt the need to send a certified letter to my house saying I was delinquent, despite the… previous conversation. Keep in mind, getting this office to fax my records to a new practice was near to impossible, but sending this letter was no issue. After I felt my pregnancy was more stable, I wanted to come back and they black listed me and told me they would not take me back. Which is basically better off, because they were so very rude. I only did this bc out of the few options I had to give birth at the hospital I wanted, their practice was a bigger one which my husband preferred. I have had other people tell me bad things about this office. Most people I know don't use them, I had a bad feeling from the start and should have listened.
