Dr. Melchor E Madarang, MD

A very disappointing experience. As soon as Dr. Madarang reviewed my medication list, he focused entirely on the fact that I take medication for anxiety. Without asking questions or discussing my overall health, he stated, “You don’t need a doctor, you need a psychiatrist.” I felt dismissed and judged. I came in seeking primary care for legitimate medical issues, including knee arthritis and other conditions, but he showed no interest in addressing them. The appointment became solely about my anxiety medication rather than my physical health. Because I did not feel listened to or respected as a patient, I walked out and told him he was not the right doctor for me. I was looking for a physician who would provide comprehensive care, not make assumptions or disregard my concerns.

Wonderful Doctor, very easy to inform you about your health needs.

Dr required blood work to be done. I go to get labs done and they need clarification on two of the tests ordered. I called the office as well as quest has called them, over 20 times and never got a response. I need my medicine and can't get it until the labs are done. Over 6 weeks now, 3 cancelled appointments over this. Extremely dissatisfied with this Dr and this so called company.

I was very impressed with Dr. Madarang. First doctor I've seen in a long time who was interested in helping me.

I am a patient of Dr. Madarang for the past four months. I feel very graced to have him as my PCP. I have a complex medical problem and he gave me a very thorough workup and answered all my questions. Nothing went unanswered or not done to my satisfaction. He has a most pleasing personality, is very intelligent and is obviously happy with his calling and does not rush his patients.

Spent 3 hours and all he could say is I only have 2 rooms but my wife and I were in one and mother in law was in another so where was he hiding all that time. Unable to call his Sumter landing office for info or prescriptions. One office girl is almost rude. No one calls with test results. Time for new Dr.

There is either something wrong with patients who gave him a bad review or they are talking about a different doctor. He received glowing reviews on Healthgrades.com. I can only speak for him as in infectious disease doctor. But he spent an hour and a half with me. Listened to everything I said and answered all of my questions. He spoke in depth about what might be the cause of my illness. He was clear and made sure I understood everything he was saying. He ordered an exhaustive list of blood tests in a attempt to make sure he left no stone unturned. I'm a doctor myself and was very impressed. Don't know how he would be as a primary care physician. I am recommending him strictly as an expert in infectious diseases.

My father went to see DR Madarang when he practiced in Elkton MD .. Told my Father he had a lot of mucus and his voice kept changing and then he couldn't breath right , My father died in Apr 2015 due to a Tumor on his Voicebox that kept growing in then cut his air way to nothing but a pin hole to breath from .. So be careful with this Doctor !!

He never looked at me or examined me. He didn't ask any questions and wouldn't let me talk. He didn't care why I was there. He looked at a paper and told me there's no way I could have what I have and laughed at me. Said there's no way because I'm not an athlete and I'm too young. Laughed again. Didn't want to know what was wrong and didn't care. Kept telling me to find a different doctor if I didn't like him. When I complained to him about his lack of care he ordered blood tests and xrays that I didn't need and told me to come back in 6 weeks. I was extremely offended. I also didn't get my problem addressed or t as Ken care of and I'm back where I started.
