Dr. Melchor Hernan Munoz, MD

Thorough and good bedside manner.

I saw Dr. Munoz for some ear pain and a sore throat. I had been to another doctor 5 days before and was diagnosed with swimmer's ear. I was given some antibiotic ear drops and took them over the course of the 5 days. At the end of the 5 days my ear had not gotten any better which was the reason for my visit. He looked in my ear and said everything looked fine and that it appeared I simply had a virus that was causing my throat to be sore (even though I told him my ear and side of my face were starting to swell). He said the only thing I needed were some steroids and not antibiotics I go home and go to bed only to wake up with my ear even more swollen and painful. I go back to another doctor and after looking in my ear the doctor says verbatim "you have a rip roaring ear infection" and that both the canal and middle ear have infections. The doctor was quite surprised that Dr. Munoz said my ear looked fine 12 hours before. I now have both oral antibiotics as well as… additional ear drops. Dr. Munoz seemed like a nice enough guy but honestly seemed like he was just there to check the box and get me in and out. Not being able to pick up on this ear infection is pretty concerning so I would advise using him with caution.

I agree with the above review. We spent a great deal of time discussing my medical history, sharing my concerns and also getting insight on him and his family. I never felt rushed and he was very patient and I could tell he enjoyed his job, if my daughter ever needed to see a Pediatrician and her Ped. wasn't available, he would be my first choice.

Dr. Munoz was extremely attentive, taking the time to sit and talk through my history and any current health issues, wanting to get the full picture of my health right from the beginning. He was sincere, helpful, and intelligent. I've since referred several people to him.
