Dr. Melinda Elizabeth Karam, MD

Me and friend have both had dr.karan as our doctor. She is vary rude and called us both fat and said she was going to put me in the hospital on protein shakes because I was so obese...I was 11 at the time and weighed 93lbs and my friend was 10 and weighed 87lbs I would highly recommend to stay away from her she destroys little girls no self confidence and it’s vary wrong and gross

Dr. Karam has always provide the best care possible for my son. She is thorough, thoughtful and kind. Her office staff is kind and helpful and this office makes it a priority to be available for sick child calls.

I absolutely LOVE Karam!! My son is her patient and growing up so was my husband and his four siblings. She is very intelligent and always offers natural suggestions for everything from bathing products to sunscreen and bug repellent. Anytime I have had health concerns for my son they gave me an appointment right away! I work in a pediatric floor in a large local hospital so I come in contact with multiple pediatricians daily but I will always chose Dr. Karam. I also drive from Troy but it is well worth it because I know he is in the best hands. It is not often that you find someone who cares like she does. I can't say enough great things about her.

So many negative reviews for this Physician. Please keep in kind that she stepped up and took on this patient when the other "physician" refused to uphold the Hipocratical Oath that ALL physicians make. Please do not hold her co-worker's poor decision and refusal to take care of an innocent baby against this lady. If you condemn her, you will take away one of the most decent people on this planet... a person who dedicates her life to help others... a fellow human being. See below... Boycott this practice!! They will judge your family before providing care for child. Horrible doctors!

I have 3 children and they all went to Dr. Karam, Dr. Roi, and Dr. Sobocinski until they were too old for pediatricians--they all begged to stay. There is not enough positive I can say about each doctor in this group. Dr. Karam never hesitated to find the best specialists throughout the times one of my chiden had serious but puzzling health symptoms. Her research into the possible problems was vital in finally getting things sorted out, resulting in multiple diagnoses. They all were patient, and made sure both the parents and the child always had a full understanding of exactly what was being done. The staff treated everyone like family; and were kind, sympathetic and informative when called about any concerns. You were always given an appointment for that day if a child should be seen, yet they rarely ran late despite the squeezed in appointments. In twenty one years, I only know of a few times we waited more than twenty minutes; and unless your more than 15 minutes early or late,… you were usually called in less than 10 to 15 minutes---even during cold and flu season!! I've recommended this pediatric group to so many people, and every one of them stayed with that practice until their children "graduated" beyond pediatricians. Did I meantion that they are WONDERFUL with adolescents?

Both my kids went to her until they turned 18 (youngest just turned 18 recently.) I love the other drs in her office, but I was never crazy about her. The reason why is because she listened to what I have to say only when she felt like it. There were so many times when I took one of my kids in, she'd be in a "non listening mood" that day. I never once got that from either of the other two pediatricians there. Just her. In a nutshell, I love everything about her practice (the staff is just fabulous! The other doctors are really great!), except her.

I knew Dr.. Karam was loving and wonderful the moment she picked up my firstborn son in the hospital and hugged and kissed him. That was 29 years ago and three children later and I think she is the best. She now cares for my grandson and I couldn't be happier. Over the years she has taken care of my children as if they were her own. She would call immediately to let me know test results and she always followed up to see how they were doing. She saw our family through many medical emergencies with grace and confidence. My daughter would still be her patient if she agreed agreed to accept 28 year old patients. Now she takes care of my daughters son and she is very grateful to have him in her care. Her dedication goes above and beyond measure. She surrounds herself with great associates and a very helpful friendly staff. I know my grandson is in the best place he could possibly be. She has my thanks and unending gratitude for being our doctor.

Outstanding Dr.

Dr Karam is moody. When she's in a good mood, she listens. When she's in a bad, or off mood, she is very dismissive. She thinks her conclusions are the only valid ones. I think she's the type that follows the motto: "if you see hoof prints, think horses, not zebras" to the very outer extreme. As a result, I don't really like her. I'd recommend either of her colleagues over her. And as a side note, I do just love her office staff.
