Dr. Melinda Baldwin Mcfarland, MD

Dr. McFarland and her staff are absolutely amazing and I couldn't ask for better care throughout my pregnancy. Her expertise saved my baby by deciding to deliver earlier than expected. My baby girl had her cord wrapped around her neck 5 times. So I am very grateful for her care.

The scheduling at this particular location is awful. Wait time is typically 1-2 hours after your appointment time. The office manager, Tami, is crass. The nurse, Cindy Laskowski, is pretentious and uneducated. Most of the medical assistants are cold and inattentive. There are a few nice people that work there, but only a few. The doctor has a terrible bedside manner. She actually missed a cleft lip and palate. As I understand, this is an easy thing to diagnose (especially with serial visits). Beware. There are other doctors that do what she does. There are other options! Search around.

I saw Dr. McFarland during my pregnancy with my daughter. I had diabetes prior to getting pregnant so my visits to her started at about my 7th week of pregnancy. At times yes, there is a long wait. I believe the longest I waited was over an hour but her services are worth the wait. You have to understand that every pregnancy she is dealing with is a "high risk" pregnancy and you never know what the patient before you is going through. I never had an issue with her nurses and I'm sure I wasn't the easiest person to deal with at times. Honestly, they were the best group of people I got to know so there isn't much to complain about. They were all very friendly as I got to know all of them during the duration of my pregnancy. As far as Dr. McFarland, she is one of the best doctors I have come across. She was always willing to answer any questions that I may have, and I never felt rushed while she was in the room. She did an excellent job at ensuring I had a smooth and healthy pregnancy as… well as healthy baby. Her rules are strict as far as testing and your diet, but in the end it's worth it. Please keep that in mind before you complain about wait times. She is there to bring a healthy baby into this world. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a Perinatologist.

Took 3hrs. to see the Dr. after I saw her she only spend ten min with me staff was rude. Will never go back

I agree with a lot of reviews on here. Dr. McFarland is the best very well mannered, she is very skill-wise and definitely knows what she is doing. She is very loving and caring and extremely nice, she really cares and takes care of her patients!! The nurses in the back are also very nice and helpful. However the workers in the front need to work on their customer service skills, the waits are long and I would not have minded if the front desk was nicer and helpful. The girls in the front usually had and attitude and were not helpful or willing to work with patients with the appointment schedules. Dr. McFarland is too nice helpful and kind to have bad mannered people work for her and lose patients that way. Overall I still referrer Dr. McFarland to all my family and friends because she is awesome!

Dr. McFarland was great during my triplet pregnancy. She never over reacted but always too measured precautions. She was also upfront about issues as they arose.

The doctor seems very knowledgeable and spends sufficient time with you but her nurses have a horrible attitude. when a complaint was filed with the office manager i was told that i just misinterpreted her employee. ive been to this doc over 12 times this year and have many times waited over an hour just before getting into the exam room. it takes two hours on average to get out of there. office staff are very unfriendly.

The best care of a doctor in the world. I would pay cash for her if I had to just to keep her and her staff on my team. Yes people complain about a long wait but just remember there is only one doctor and she is a specialist and like any specialist they have to take time with each patient to montior their care to the fullest which she does. You don't know what she is doing in the back being a perinatologist. Some people she gives good news and some she gives bad news too so when you are wanting her to hurry up because you have a lunch date just know in the back someones heart might be breaking and she is trying to give them love and time. I am telling you when you are in need she will ride in like a cowboy and save the day. From experiance with 2 pregnancies with her I can tell you I love her deeply and this is also coming from a ob nurse for a local baptist hospital. XOXO

I was very unimpressed with the attitude of the front office. My wait time to see the doctor was 2.5 hours which is unacceptable. I arrived 15 minutes early for my 10:45 appointment as instructed by the front desk and was not seen until 1pm. Once I finally had my ultrasound done by the tech, I waited another 35 minutes for the doctor to come in and discuss the ultrasound with me. Dr. McFarland seems to be a caring doctor, but the appointment was too long and too stressful. I will be seeing some else for my care. I need a doctor that understands my time is valuable.

Dealing with the front office has been the worst experience I've ever had. Whether over the phone or in person they are the rudest group of people that I've encountered in either of my pregnancies. Once I am back in the back with either the nursing or back office staff or even Dr. McFarland herself it is wonderful. The back people and the dr. seem to be the most caring people in the world but the front people are the ones I seem to have to deal with most often and they have turned me away from this office. I would not recommend this office until the front office (scheduling, check-in, first face you see) has had some major changes.
