Dr. Melinda Wheatley, MD

I was fine with Dr. Wheatley up until the time I came in to tell her I was pregnant and needed prenatals. Her reaction was disheartening and discouraging. She said that she would be happier for me if my boyfriend and I were married. She then went on to say that a lot of the times couples don't last through it unless they are married because they can't leave. I feel that at a professional level I should have been treated with the excitement any new mother should feel. Thankfully my very supportive boyfriend reassured me that everything was going to be great! Still blown away and consider this establishment very unprofessional and unsupportive.

Sometimes the wait for is long but when you look at the love, care and concern given one must realize that was given to the patient before you as well.

I just got a new Doctor because: 1) When I called for emergency I got a recording to press 1 and when I did I was forwarded to a automatic service that gave me a message NOT AVAILABLE. 2)I always had to wait. One time 1 hour 3) Dr. always wanted me to come back. I don not have good insurance and informed her of that and she still insisted I come back several times 4)They never called to update my blood test they insisted I have. 5)I ask if I could do my blood test before my physical that way when I came in for my physical she would already have the results but again they declined. Made me come in 1 for physical and then again to discuss results from blood work. So I had to pay for two appointments. 6)Office staff is different every time I go in. So that tells me it must not be a very good place to work. No one seems to know what is going on.

Her staff is constantly making mistakes. Also, the wait time to see the Doctor is usually 1 1/2 hours.

Great office, very friendly staff, Dr Wheatley is a physician that spend a great deal of time with me once I get in to see her. I have to wait sometimes very long, but because I know she spends alot of time with me, it is worth the wait. Phones ring all the time and nobody answers them. they just let them ring and nobody seems to care if they ring or not. Had to call back to try to get through several times as my call kept going to message system and nobody would get back with me. Very frustrating. Spoke to the office manager regarding this-very friendly and helpful. Customer service was great once I was able to speak to a live person.

Dr. Wheatley is a very compassionate,knowledgeable physician. She is down to earth, and approaches things as someone who understands exactly what you are going through. THe office manager tends to get billing screwed up a lot, but if you are on top of it, it will be okay. Otherwise, this is a doctor all my friends, some relatives and church members have gone to, and ador.
